  • Beautiful blue watch
Color: Sky Blue
Beautiful Orient automatic time piece. It has a beautiful variation of blue! The band is a suede leather. Minimalistic yet classic! I love this watch. Looks great casual or a little dressed up. Looks great with jeans. I love the Orient brand, similar to Seiko yet not as marketed in the United States. Very popular brand in Asia. Great value ... show more

  • Excellent watch - Update
Color: Blue
I’ve been wearing this watch for about a month now. It looks just like the pictures, the colors are accurately depicted. It is much lighter weight than I expected, a welcome surprise. It keeps time very well. I don’t jog anymore, so I hand wind it. It takes about 8 to 10 partial turns per day. I like winding it. The second hand sound is extremely faint, I cannot hear it at all when there is any ambient sound. It is a thin watch as well, it doesn’t get caught on jacket and coat sleeves nearly as much as my other watches. I like the big dial. The blue face actually fades to a slightly darker shade towards the outer edges, this helps contrast the chrome dial markers making it easier to read in low light conditions. The watch band works great. Update: It has been about five months now. I wear it daily, the only time I take it off is to wind it, or when I shower. I could probably leave it on then too, but it is hard to dry between the watch and my skin. The watch has hacking, where the movement stops while you are setting the time. This is great if you want to set it to the EXACT time, but if it is within a few seconds, that is fine for my current needs. Regarding the band, it has shaped to the curvature of my wrist. I typically use one of two holes on the band. My wrist swells at night, so I loosen it one notch for while I sleep. It looks like it takes a tiny partial wind for each hour of run time. So if I wind it before sleeping, or work, then wind it again after, I do a tiny partial turn for each hour. You can go a long time between windings, I just choose to wind it daily. I am still very happy with this purchase. I typically wipe the watch face with a cotton Tee shirt, and I have used leather conditioner on the band once while I was treating a coat, belt, shoes, boots, holsters, etc. On the occasion someone, including watch aficionados, say “nice watch”, I reply “I know”. ... show more

  • 100% perfect
Color: Green
I am amazed by the quality and aesthetics of this piece. From the beautiful domed sapphire crystal, to the classic style hands and markers, to the beautiful two-tone faded dial, this thing is beautiful all the way around. The size is perfect and the domed crystal does a nice job of giving the dial a magnified appearance. The band is top notch and the alligator pattern was a plus for something in this price range. I would have rather had the brown band, and accidentally ordered with black, but still looks really good with the gold and dark outer edge of the dial. From a functionality perspective, it keeps decent time, but I've caught it being a little fast by a few seconds a day. This isn't really a big deal for me and something I've gotten used to with automatic/mechanical watches. I just pull the crown, count to whatever I need, push the crown back in and you're good for another day. The comfort is outstanding and I can wear it for hours without even noticing it's there (other than constantly catching my eye of course). I have a number of nice watches and this is one of my favorites. Absolutely nothing negative to say about it. I wish I had a large clock size version to put on my wall! ... show more

  • Orient bambino great value and quality for the money
Color: Blue
First Orient and definetely a keeper. First this watch quality wise is on another level than what its price shows. No this is not as well made as a Rolex or Omega instead it rivals brands like Hamilton. The case is polished steel that is really bright and even. The watch has a domed mineral crystal that is very thick. The watch has a signed buckle but no signed crown. The hands are short and the red seconds hands is somewhat of a turnoff seems to sporty for a dress watch but I am a youngster so I like the modern style. The dial is the real showpiece of the watch and its best attribute. Its a sunburst dial that plays with the light going from bright blue to a dark blue almost black color. The movement is hackable and handwinds. Now for the bad parts of the watch. Due to the cases polish dust and finger prints are ever present. The movement is good except that their is rotor noise which is normal for more inexpensive automatics. The crown is not signed but some of the previous orient bambinos do have the signed crown. The lugs are not drilled making strap changing more difficult. The leather strap has a alligator pattern but is actually genuine leather was really stiff at first but it broke in eventually. I hate all day/date complications but there everywhere but I just have to get used to them. The biggest problem for me is the size. At 42mm it is rather large for a dress watch. Had the size been kept at 38mm to 40mm it would have been better. The thing about this watch is that it can be dressed down with a different strap and be worn with very casual attire. Overall as a first automatic its a great piece, as a new collector you will be proud to own one, veteran collectors will be impressed by its quality to price ratio. Its a great watch that mixes vintage appeal with some modern styling. ... show more

  • Orient is the best bang for the buck...
Color: Sky Blue
As the title says, Orient watches really are the best quality, finish, and style for the money in my opinion. If I'm not mistaken they were bought out by Seiko, so go figure I love 'em. The bubble crystal on the bambino 4, the dark blue/grey dial with silver accents, the tough automatic movement, the way it hugs the wrist when coupled with a nice dark brown buttero leather strap... Topps, absolutely tip-top for the dollar... I said it once and I'll say it again, these watches both look and preform well outside of their price range. $250 ($300 after my strap addition), and I'm $2,500 dollars happy with it. ... show more
