I wanted to wait until I had 200 miles on the bike before writing a review to be able to give it a fair assessment. When this bike came I was a bit shocked by how big it was. We have a full sized SUV and folding it in half and putting it in the back is a bit of a challenge when you're alone. This 69lbs monster is difficult to wrestle with, mainly because there is no latching mechanism to keep it locked folded. I use a bungie cord to accomplish this now. As far as performance, this thing is awesome. This is my first e-bike so I have no reference to go on, but it is ALOT of fun. I have taken it mt. biking/going on trails in Colorado Springs and biking through Chicago and it handles well in either situation. The motor is strong, fast, and and I haven't experienced any drop-off in battery capacity yet. I did notice on some of my longer rides if you hold the throttle for too long the battery starts dropping pretty quick just to jump back up after letting it rest. With pedal assist 2 I have gone 42 miles and ended up with 26% battery remaining at the end. My only greivances/wish-list for the product are: 1. No electric tail lights, just a headlight. 2. The instruction manual leaves a bit to be desired. I wish the pictures were more high quality, or a website existed showing a step by step construction guide. I was a bit thrown off when I realized the shocks had two different sized bolts. 3. Wish there was a latch to keep the bike closed when folded. 4. Can't wait for more official OPEAK accessories to be released. I have had trouble going third party int he past and prefer to buy directly from the mfr. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Update: I have over 1000 miles on the bike now and it is still holding up. Had to change the tires and the disc breaks need some love, but other than that she's still going strong. If there has been any drop off in the battery it is minor. I just wanted to update to say that the pedal somehow came loose and striped out of the crank arm. I notified the company and they took care of the problem right away. I love good customer service. ... show more

I call this bike "The Beast". The bike is big and it is heavy. It also has no problem getting me around and I weigh 230 pounds and my heighth is 6'1. The battery life is good. The suspension is adequate. The brakes are very strong and take a while to get used to. I placed a bigger seat with springs as the original seat is uncomfortable. I bought the two year warranty just in case. I added a side mirror near the forks and have a solar powered rear light. The front light is powerful. I have gone 70 miles with no problems. The price is quite fair in comparison to other ebikes. An E bike just makes riding a lot of fun with minimal effort. ... show more

UPDATE: Going into the second year, this big big bike has some problems. The cadence sensor is a real issue, so when I was very slowly climbing a driveway the motor kicks in full blast and suddenly the rear shaft has stripped it's own threads and popped out of the rear dropouts. Not good. I contacted the manufacturer, and they sold me a new motor/rear axle at a reasonable cost. Arrived in a couple weeks. My mechanic was willing to install with the provided video and he did so. Skip forward to Spring 22. First ride of the season, 4 miles in, motor kicks on when I'm going slow and drops itself right out of the rear frame. No harm, but the rear axle is literally free from the bike. Mechanic can put it back, but warns me, "due to all the stress of those weird washers and the motor and my changing it out, I think your rear drop-outs are enlarged and will never hold the motor. HOWEVER, I have learned an e-bike Torque Arm should do the trick and have me back on the road. I will update after the arm is installed. Over 250 miles so far at about 12mph average and I like it more all the time. It is not perfect, but neither am I and we seem to work well together. I am somewhere between 200 and 250 and the folding pedals (suck) complain at my weight, but otherwise I have found this bike handles me, battery and motor, and virtually every terrain I can find without issue. It is heavy, large, and perhaps a touch low on torque for me and these tires, but honestly I am picking at nits. PROS: as quick as it needs to be. I turned the top speed down a touch. Twist throttle nicely makes up for cheaper cadence sensor. Brakes make a good controller for over-riding the cadence sensor, and since you ate piloting the pedestrian equivalent of a truck it is smart to keep your hands there. Battery is a great size, gearing is very nice, brakes are great but those tires carry some serious mass… the brakes are important. Goes fast smooth. Suspension is ideal for my 5’10” hefty setting. Tires rock. Folding is awesome, fits in my Volt. Having a motor is the best. CONS: an o-ring popped out of the front shock right away and is just floating there. But it seems fine…? The digital dashboard mount can break when twisted on the elliptical handlebars. Oops my bad. I didnt care for the graphics but the white version took my vinyl skin like a champ. People think it’s experimental. Handlebars put my hands to sleep. The motor is nice. But it seems ideal for someone a little smaller than me. I have ridden long distances at moderate speed comfortably and gotten many many miles. 30-50. I have blasted thru the battery in a day just cruising town. But once, legit climbing a small mountain in Tennessee, it got me to the top and shut down. Poor thing. It is a lot of bike for the money. Perfect? No. Would I do it again? Um yeah! ... show more
