  • It does everything good
I purchased this receiver back in March 2024. It is used as my home office music system. Paired with Polk ES15 mains, ES10 Surrounds, ES35 Center and an RSL Speedwoofer 10e. A Hisense 55U7K 4k TV rounds out the equipment. The Onkyo was easy to connect and integrates well with the other equipment. Once the system audio calibration, AccuEQ, is complete it sounds very nice. Nothing over powering or left wanting in the audio spectrum. Crispy highs and solid bass response. ... show more

  • Sounds amazing
I had many issues at first with this product. But then I realized it wasn't the receiver that I was having problems with. I was using a poor quality HDMI cable. I bought new HDMI cables and it works flawlessly.

  • GOOD!
After having so much trouble with a Denon, I bought another Onkyo just because of the ease of use. The -->Bluetooth button on the front<--- is nice to have and the bass/treble sliders are also nice. Works just like high end just has a couple of buttons and sliders that make this unit my favorites so far. I now have two different Onkyo system, the 6050 and another better model. But both are great! Do what they are supposed to do without overthinking it. And depending on your use, dont have to have the controller sitting there to use it... GOOD! not great. But does the job for sure, at least for me. ... show more

  • No instruction manual - VERY challenging to set up...
I owned an Onkyo receiver/amplifier years ago. When our Panasonic one died, I thought another Onkyo would be a good choice - wrong!!! It arrived with absolutely NO instructions other than a very simplified diagram of how to hook everything up. It was not that clear, and after going online trying to find a detailed installation/instruction manual, I found that they like to hide it. It was extremely difficult to find and download, and when I did it was highly technical - beyond what a normal person could use. I got it to work a little on the front speakers but no "Home Theater" or surround sound. Try and reboot it - no can do. The return window has closed so here we sit with a $400+ amp that will not easily connect to our new Samsung 55" OLED Smart TV and does not give us what we thought we were buying. I guess we can hire the Geek Squad from Best Buy, but really? So, unless you are extremely well versed in hooking up an Onkyo amp/rec do not buy this. I am not sure that Onkyo is still in business, but if you are looking for a amp/rec do yourself a huge favor and buy something else. We will never buy an Onkyo product again and you should think long and hard before you do. ... show more

  • Click!
Hopefully this will last longer than my Denon. It works fairly well. Setup was better than the Denon. I would complain about the constant loud CLICKs that happen every time the audio format changes. For example, if I'm watching a show in Dolby Atmos whatnot and a commercial comes on that's dolby surround, I get a CLICK from the unit itself that sounds like a relay closing. VERY annoying! ... show more
