This is my first time buying a floor lamp that wasn’t 5 dollars from a big box store, so this feels extra special. It’s beautiful, even the lampshade is pretty good for a self-assembled shade. It has a nice linen-like texture to it. If you’re having trouble with the lampshade hardware showing above your shade at eye-level, just be sure to flip your top shade hardware so that the prongs curve down instead of up. This is a great looking lamp. The shade is sturdy linen, not paper like many other lamps I considered. Some helpful measurements- The pole comes up about two inches from the side of the base (see pic), and the foot switch on the cord is 33” from the base after assembly. I was worried the switch would be too close to the base, making placement behind furniture difficult, but once the pole was assembled and the slack in the cord pulled through, there is plenty of length to place the lamp where I wanted it and still be able to access the switch. ... show more

I had just moved in and needed a lamp in this space, so bought the first floor lamp I saw, which was rather large, unwieldy and all-around annoying. I replaced it with this one - so much nicer! A breeze to put together - note: screw the bottom pole into the base, then align neck and base, THEN tighten the wingnut. That one threw me for about 5 minutes. Also, thank you to C, whose "So Cute!" review notes the top circle in the lamp shade needs the braces to arc upward, not down. See her photo. Then the black thing that holds the bulb won't show. I put it together and something didn't seem right - sure enough, found the solution in her review and pic. See my pics - one before I saw her explanation - and the one after! ... show more

Was easy to put together. The lampshade has a Velcro edge and need to roll it on the hoops. Looks ok if you can turn the lamp so that the lampshade seam does not show. The part that was hard for my lamp was that the ring you screw directly into the lamp is flimsy and I had a hard time getting it to thread. I feel that it may fall off at any time releasing the shade and lightbulb onto my desktop. I will be gently if I need to adjust the angle of the shade. I also luckily have a way to keep lamp upright/straight with the edge of my desk other wise it leans. I do not think it is worth the money I paid. ... show more

Writing this because I think anyone looking for a lamp, probably should think about looking elsewhere because the assembly wasn’t intuitive, and the quality does not wow you. Opening the box was a bit of a shock, it had been obviously returned and repackaged. There were bits and pieces of the packaging foam broken off and missing. The base of the lamp was chipped in several places and it looked worn. Strange crusty white stuff was on the cord, still not sure what it was. Cleaned it off, couldn’t leave it like that. The rolled-up lamp shade was a shocker and took a half-second to figure out how the pieces fit together with the Velcro fasteners. My significant other laughed because I attempted to put it together without reading the instructions. Opened the little instruction sheet and realized I did better on my own. Otherwise, once I got it together, I didn’t have the problem others had with balance. It seems reasonably sturdy, and it looked pretty much like the picture. Keeping it. The lamp was not easy to assemble because the section where you screw the pieces together was crooked so I had a lamp bent at a 30-degree angle. I would have returned it but I was tired and spent 45 minutes trying to hammer the threaded attachment straight so that the pieces could screw on straight. I ended up taking pliers and taking the threaded section out and hammering it in straight. Another issue was that the on/off button stopped working the same day it arrived and was assembled. The only reason it's fine is because it's hooked up to the Alexa so we don't have to bother with the button. If I had more time and energy I would have returned it for a different lamp but I didn't want to deal with another return. Other than that, the shade was easy to assemble, and the lamp lights up well with a LED bulb. The lamp also moves so that you can change the angle the light is facing. So if you're trying to recreate the pixar lamp look- boy do I have news for you. Anyways, if it hadn't been for the crooked section and the faulty button, I would say it was worth the purchase. ... show more

Love the look and sturdy build of this lamp. Agree with all the previous reviewers who said it was well packaged and easy to assemble. The rolled up shade is such a great shipping method. Won’t be surprised if we order a second for another room. UPDATE: We were so pleased with our first lamp in the gold color that we eventually decided to buy a second lamp with the black finish for another room. The lamp was super easy to assemble (5 minutes) and the seams/connection points between the different pieces are practically invisible so it looks like one solid pole even though it's three pieces. Just as with the first one this is a great quality product shipped in quality packaging to avoid damage. Honestly, as we keep getting our house in order we'll probably buy a third lamp sometime in the future. ... show more
