Love the base of this lamp. It looks simple and elegant. Like other reviews stated, the shade is very thin, so I ended up purchasing a different shade. This lamp is still worth it in my opinion as the overall price is very reasonable.

    • Beautiful lamp
We bought this lamp for our new home office after several problems with other brands' torchieres. This one we really like. It arrived quickly, seemed well packaged and was easy to assemble: no missing or broken parts. We like the glass shade and need that 150-watt bulb to light our office, so that feature works very well for us. We also really like the design, it's a little "art deco". Very pretty. Lamp has a nice, sturdy base so won't fall over easily or "lean". Also, the on/off switch is sturdy and made of metal, a good size (not one of those little plastic buttons that fall off when you look at it...) and actually stays on the lamp, so you can use it without breaking that key feature. Overall, this one is a winner for us and we can recommend it to others. ... show more

    • Steampunk Delight!
0kay, not super easy for little old lady Steampunk fan to assemble, but not impossible! Mine came without instructions, but as a card-carrying member of Mensa, I figured it all out! Sugest that you first unscrew the fat white rings from the lamp assembly areas, 3 of these. THEN, and only then, put each, one at a time, put the shades on. Have a person with reasonably small hands standing by to reach up inside the wire "shade" while they are holding the white screw-on thingy...and screw it on tight! Then unpack and screw in each bulb. I am happy that this came with the bulbs 💡 and the yellow glow is great...bright enough to read by. I bought this for my She Shed so I can sit in it and read or write my books, and no one can find me but the cat. I have to let Rumplestiltskin in or he sits outside and cries. I love the Steampunk look, industrial look, but it would blend in with just about any style; perhaps not Rococo. ... show more

    • Missing connectors on the lampshade.

The floor lamp was easy to assemble. I didn’t realize I would also have to put the lampshade together. It would have been an easy task except the 2 connectors were missing. So, I have an unusable lampshade and will have to buy one. Can’t the company just send me the connectors?

Don't make the same mistake I did; read some of these reviews. This lampshade sucks. I actually bought this lamp because I LIKED the lamp shade. For starters, it's white, not linen colored like the pictures. Secondly, you have to put the lamp shade together yourself. It comes in a rolled up fabric piece. You're supposed to clip the metal interior bands together for the lampshade with some connector piece. It's not included. It's supposed to be. Looks like a couple other reviewers have had the same problem. You cannot put together the lampshade without this piece. It will not hold together. You could probably duct tape together the metal bands so you can have it up and running as soon as it's unboxed, but why pay $50 for that. The base itself is actually pretty nice, just unfortunate that the lampshade is so bad. Also, bulb is NOT included!! I know some lamps come with it; this one does not. ... show more

    • Contemporary design and good quality
I ordered this lamp to replace a very outdated floor lamp and refresh a room. I was very pleased with my selection. The lamp came package very securely and there was no damage whatsoever to the item. It was easy to assemble and came with simple instructions. The glass shade is translucent with a swirl design in the glass which gives it some depth and interest. The base is heavy and wide enough to make it sufficiently stable with no worries of it tipping ( I have it placed on a hardwood floor). I would recommend this item. ... show more

    • Looks good, cheap junk
I was replacing a $50 lamp from Lowes. This one looked nice, it fit my style. However, the socket is the cheapest electrical socket I have ever seen. I got it all set up and it didn't work. I tried tightening the bulb and there was a pop as the electrical socket broke into pieces and the now-loose wires shorted out against the metal of the pole; I could smell the electrical arc. I should have taken a picture before I packed it back up; the top of the socket is aluminum and the act of me screwing in the bulb literally tore the aluminum out of the base. The metal is thinner than that of a soda can. Every penny was saved on this socket. I cannot imagine how that component passed testing. I am an electrical engineer, and I do have experience in safety testing. I am surprised if the one they submitted to testing was built with the same components as the one I received. I wonder if they source the components from various manufacturers, based on so many positive reviews on Amazon. This one fell right apart. I considered rebuilding it myself as I did like the look and the lamp itself was decent, but I am so offended that it was $82 and not nearly as good quality as my $50 Lowe's lamp that I decided to return it. In the end, I found a $29 one at another hardware store that was better built than this one. Cheap junk, dangerous. Do not buy unless you are willing to replace the lamp socket. Had it been half the price, I would have repaired it ... show more
