  • Nice and light but then again so are trailer homes.
I suspect the reason why they don't have a better picture with close-ups is to obscure the fact that all of the hardware is plastic. Although this makes for a lightweight lighting stand it is surely the weakest link in the chain. Specifically the top bar that is held on by a plastic tee. An unbalanced load will make short work of the small amount of plastic responsible for keeping it from teetering. Having said that, the lower two arms benefit greatly from the bracing and this would probably be the best place for heavier equipment. The main upright (or the "tree trunk") is kept in place with a metal pin that keeps it extended under weight but if you need to adjust the height you may have to drill an additional hole otherwise the plastic collar is going to be your last line of defense. These things are going for $173 at the time of writing this review and if you ask my honest opinion that's about $73 too much for what you get. ... show more

  • Rock Solid
I use this to demonstrate surveillance cameras to customers. Very solid, and light enough to carry anywhere.

  • not bad, for the price
Before I bought this stand, I debated buying the Ultimate Stands version of this (tripod and t-bar)...but that would have cost $100 more. In the end, for the price I bought the On-Stage stand package. Quality is OK... it looks good, but the overall quality of the tighteners and plastic is iffy. If you take GOOD care of your stuff, this should be alright... but I am curious how much life i'll get from this stand, as opposed to the more expensive Ultimate stand. ... show more

  • I loved them for the first week before they BROKE!!!
I went into the local GC looking for a tall adjustable t-bar light stand. It looked good and seemed to suit my needs. It put together easily, I loved the adjustable top t-bar (the ability to tighten/loosen it to take it off.) It lasted only lasted 4 gigs though. Gig #1 it was great, base was perfect and was easy to use. I only mounted 4 spots and 3 small LED dance lights on it. Gig #2 (6 days after Gig #1) I noticed that taking it out of the car the rubber feet were still in the car (these came off waaay too easy) I'd have to put them on or make sure they were all on before the gig and after loading up after the gig. Gig #3 (the day after Gig 2) I noticed the rubber feet were really falling off, had to watch them unloading and loading. I couldn't understand why they middle extension pole wouldn't raise as much as it did the previous gigs (i couldn't get to the hole for the safety pins in go in. This could be my error for not putting it together properly.) Gig #4 was 3 days later, all 3 rubber feet were off after loading/unloading but here's where it got me. After I was done with the gig, the tripod leg housing knob was broken (the plastic casing to the knob was broken) and the knob would just turn, it wouldn't loosen nor tighten the tripod leaving this item unusable. Tonight I ordered an ultimate lighting/speaker pole with 4 bar (i know there stuff if good as I Still have speaker poles from them from the 90's that are still going with no issues. I'm hoping that I can locate my receipt and return it. Again, I thought it was a good pole, liked it's size features etc., but it is not well made. ... show more

  • Best Light Stand EVER!
It is the first light rack I have ever owned that has made it to over 500+ shows. It is perfectly able to hold two 700 watt Fog Machines and all the lights from the picture I posted. I used 2 ADJ O Clamps to mount the Color Bank and hide my wires. See you in the Mix, DJ VR3

  • Missing parts
This was clearly opened before as the box was mutilated and the bags were tied shut. Some of the nuts and bolts were missing and I will have to buy elsewhere
