Magnet is strong, all the pieces came packaged great with a little book that says what each piece is used for. Additionally it came with a cheap pair of throw away gloves that worked out great for a pair of truck gloves and two caliper hanging hooks! Great buy super happy

Tool was used to compress caliper pistons for rear brake pad replacement. Previously used a C-clamp to perform same function for the last 40 years but this tool made the job much easier. This brake tool was purchased because I now own a vehicle that has wind-back calipers so will eventually need that functionality when brake service is performed on that vehicle. Only complaint is that the black coating had a black powdery residue covering each metal adapter piece of the tool, and the black coating rubbed off causing black hands and fingers each time the tool was handled. To solve this, I thoroughly wipe off each piece with paper towels and mineral spirits. This solved the problem but did take about half an hour of cleaning. After cleaning, the coating appeared shinier and less dull. Also, I would suggest using light machine oil on the bolt of the thrust screw assembly prior to use. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. As a Volkswagen Sportwagen owner, I recently had to replace my brake pads and calipers. I decided to purchase the Orion Motor Tech OMT Disc Brake Pad and Caliper Service Tool Kit to assist with the installation. I must say, this kit was a lifesaver and made the process much easier. The kit includes everything you need to compress the calipers and wind back the pistons, allowing for an easy and safe installation of the new brake pads. The toolset is well-made, durable and comes with a convenient carrying case for easy storage and transportation. The caliper compression tool was easy to use and adjusted to fit the size of the caliper on my Sportwagen. The piston wind-back tool also worked great, allowing me to wind the piston back into the caliper without damaging the caliper or piston. Overall, the Orion Motor Tech OMT Disc Brake Pad and Caliper Service Tool Kit is a must-have for anyone who is planning to do their own brake pad replacement. Excellent value and very complete set. Used to compress the rear piston on a 2021 SQ5. Initially I rented one from Autozone and didn’t work it was missing the three prong adapter but this set saved the day.
