The fact is, nuts on a mower deck can be nearly impossible to remove. The Olsa Breaker Bar is the answer. The bar is very sturdy, and the collapsible feature makes for convenient storage.

Needed a breaker bar since I started rotating my jeep tires myself and found these. It feels solid, well made and easily retract for storage and extends for the task. After reading issues some others have extended the handle where it would separate, I just be mindful while extending it and when I feel the stop I just stop trying to extend it. Also I tighten the handle securely to avoid it slamming further open or closed position while working on the bolt. Will see how long this will last but so far it seems favorable. ... show more

Excellent breaker bar, but it needs some sort of friction link on the extension so that it doesn't extend/collapse just when you're looking for better control. An O-ring in the shaft would do, I think.

I farm and I want my tools to work. I only bought this breaker bar because I was looking for something long enough to justify adding to my mobile collection and this is the only one that would collapse small enough to fit into my pickup’s tool box—but frankly I was pretty skeptical of its durability because of the price. Bought it cuz what the heck, I’m not out much. It’s been almost three years since I did, and I’ve made an effort to come back and write this review to say that it’s held up nearly as good as new, and I’m surprisingly glad I bought it. I’ve broken enough breaker bars not to treat it like a total idiot, but I’ve also used it a few times where I’ve held my breath. The only thing about it I could live without is that it has an end cap that comes loose and vibrates off from bouncing around in the tool box. Not a big deal, really. Go for it. ... show more

Used the breaker bar to remove caliper bracket bracket bolts on a 12 year old F-150 - those bolts are torqued to 184 ft lbs and thread locked with some type of locktite - so much more torque to loosen - the bar did the job splendidly and I really like the collapsible handle as it works well Feels solid in your hands. ... show more

    • Extension stopper fails

There is a little piece of steel (key) with a small spring under it that's supposed to stop you from over-extending the bar. The first time I opened the package, I slid the extension out and boing! The spring and little piece of steel went flying. I put it back together. Loaned it to a guy at work and he did the same thing, except lost the spring. I cut a spring from a pen to replace it, but there just isn't enough lip on the end of the extension for that little "key" to catch. I remedied it by covering the key and spring with a piece of tape to keep it from flying away, and that gave it just enough extra thickness to keep it from over-extending. Edit - Original review was 3 stars, added 2 stars for the EXCEPTIONAL customer service. After reading my original review, Mark with the Olsa Tools Customer Support Team contacted me and promptly shipped a replacement. The new one functions as expected.
