I bought this flashlight after I caught one of my kids playing with their dad’s older version of this light. I am a new nurse and nervous about blood draws and IV placement. So far every patient that I’ve gotten in school needed a vein finder to place after a few unsuccessful sticks by myself and my instructor. I got the idea when my kids were playing with it trying creep each other out by looking at the lines under their skin. I had been looking to buy a vein finder but this much more useful and I can see even the smallest of veins with it which is great since I’ve accepted a position as a peds nurse. I think this will be a great addition to my clinical bag. It has different levels of brightness which is awesome and the charging case ensures that I never have a dead battery when I need to use it. It is small making it easy to carry in my scrub pocket or small clinical bag. It also has a durable metal clip that I can use to clip it to my scrubs, scrub pocket or lanyard. I will try to update my review when I actually use it in the hospital, but I have been able to better visualize veins on myself (overweight with small deep veins) and on my children, so I am confident this will work great. I couldn’t get a good video using it, but what I see using it is red ”glowing” flesh with dark lines throughout. The darker the lines the closer to the surface the vein is. Some were very thin but dark, others were thick and quite dark. I don’t think it needs to be used in a dark room, I have used it in a well lit area to visualize veins. It should be used as an aid, if you aren’t confident ask for help. I also go camping a lot and if I do not use this at work it will still be useful. The brightest setting will brighten a large area very well, I’ve used it in the back yard when I heard something trying to go after my chickens. The magnetic end allows me to use it inside the hood of the car when I need to see under the hood at night. ... show more

I have heard several people say that this company brand makes a good quality product. This was the first product I had ever bought from this company. My decision to purchase from this company was based on the advertising and the reviews of other customers. I love the size, and how bright it is. It fits well in my pocket, it is very easy to charge up and easy to use. I am really happy with it except for one problem, several of the features no longer work. I have not dropped it, and even though it is advertised as being water proof, it has not gotten wet, but after a short time of using it, some of the features have stopped working. The light still charges. (sometimes) it still works alright, but the features that are supposed to work when the light is left in it’s case do not function anymore. It’s supposed to have a dimmer option but that stopped working about 3 weeks after the initial purchase. The on/ off button doesn’t work anymore and it is supposed to automatically turn off when the lid is closed, but that doesn’t work anymore either. I only use the light on the weekends, so I’ll keep it and continue to use it, but I’m disappointed that I spent $100 for such low quality. I had intended to buy a few of these things and give them away as gifts to friends and family at Christmas time. After the quality issues I’ve experienced with this product, I have decided to hold off. Maybe there will be improvements made to fix the problem and my faith in the product will be restored.
