I was surprised at how lightweight this is. Felt a little "cheap" when I took it out of the box, but whoa! Is it bright! Im quite impressed. I love the fact that you can use it as a bright flashlight, but also the side panel LEDs make a very decent lantern (diffused rather than spot lighting). It seems to have a decent sized battery even tho it is so lightweight and the solar panel gives me peace of mind for electrical emergencies even though I'll be recharging it regularly via USB, but the solar is nice security as a backup. The circumference of the beam is wide enough to encompass your walking path without having to make a sweeping motion, but of course 100 yards off, it is more narrow. Certainly good enough to see who or what is approaching before they get too close! Definitely a.good bang for your buck in the flashlight/camping category. ... show more

I tested both flashlights on arrival and they work as you would expect and want them to. For the price you really can't beat the deal. I use one flashlight for the house and one in the garage. Our power has been going out quite frequently as of late and these solar power flashlights have come in handy. There are three different modes, flashlight, worklight, and flashing signal light. These get used to walk to the outhouse at our cabin so they see long periods of not being used. We haven’t seen a noticeable loss of battery life. I will say that the beam has a pretty tight hot spot that really reaches out for what it is, but they are less suitable as a work light up close because of that. I end up using this flashlight quite a bit. It's nice to be able to leave it in the sun to charge and know if would serve us well if the power was off for a few days. The narrow beam can easily light up something 30 or more ft away.
