I've purchased some of these from my local pet store and my dogs always love the flavors, so when I saw that I could try these out, I had to give them a shot! I see there is even a discount when you do a subscribe and save so that makes these an even BETTER deal, nice! These treats are good sized, about the size of a half dollar, and they are soft so I can easily break them up into smaller chunks for my small dog. I break them in half for my medium sized dog, she could easily eat a full one though. They have a nice smell to them and I love that the ingredients are natural items with very minimal use of any chemicals. I am not the biggest fan of canola oil, so I don't give these to my dogs regularly, but on an occasion as a treat I'm okay with it. ... show more

This brand / line up of treats from Mother Hubbard has several different levels. They have their more affordable treats for a every day or several per day treat…and then they have these…indulgences treats…to me it’s like when I buy that special brand of chocolates and treat myself to one per day or every few days. Or when we splurge and buy the ice cream brand with the BEST flavors. The package I received weighed 10.2 oz and contained 24 treats. At the time of this review, the package is $8.54 at a cost per unit of approx 35 cents. These treats all looked hand made, soft and you could see the natural ingredients in the recipe. Breaking a treat or cookie as they call these …I felt like I was breaking a thick soft gingerbread cookie. They smell like maple syrup …I can’t remember the last time I thought a dog treat smelled good to me! Maybe the last time I made homemade pumpkin banana dog treats… I can tell you making treats will cost less per treat ONLY if you consider your time worth nothing. Otherwise it took me over an hour and a half by the time I gathered ingredients, mixed, rolled out the dough, cut the treats or made round balls and smashed them, baked several pans of them, cleaned up the mess and packaged the completed treats. My dog, Ninja, loves these indulgences . We will use these when we need her to go outside into her fenced safety zone…. so we can be gone for a couple hours ( don’t worry she has 2 dog houses, 1 heated, a stock tank / swimming pool and an elevated platform to see anything going on in the trees or areas around her. We will also use them when getting her to learn a new activity …for this I will cut one treat into about 8 pieces and use it as a reward treat. I think these treats are very high quality and I love that they are made in the USA …I rated 4 stars as I think they are a little over priced or a better value at about 25 cents per treat…and if they offer larger bags that price should be attainable. I hope my thoughts help someone trying to choose the best treats and rewards for their dog. ... show more

I ordered these ‘Old Mother Hubbard Wellness Wholesome Indulgences Bacon, Oats & Maple Flavor Natural Dog Treats’ for my Son’s dog when he comes to visit. I’m familiar with the ‘Old Mother Hubbard’ brand of dog products, so I knew this one would not disappoint me. And I was right…my Son’s Siberian Husky loves these treats! ‘How do I know that?’, you ask? Well, whenever he comes over, he sits by the cabinet where they are kept until he gets one. I think that’s proof positive. Lol. And I must also mention that the aroma of these dog treats is pretty darn good. They have a definite scent of smoked bacon which I know all dogs like. As weird as it sounds, they even make me a bit hungry. One other thing I like about these ‘Old Mother Hubbard Wellness Wholesome Indulgences Bacon, Oats & Maple Flavor Natural Dog Treats’ is the size of the treats…they’re big enough for any dog. They’re soft so smaller dogs can chew them, but big enough so a bigger dog like a Husky won’t just inhale it. These dog treats are soft and shaped like a heart. The color is dark brown, and the biscuit is soft. My yorkie loves these treats. They are peanut butter and banana flavored. My dog does not like peanut butter or bananas, but he loves these. The treats can be easily broken into multiple pieces for various size dogs and uses. The treats are all natural and smell appealing. The price is average for the ten-ounce package. The treats are in a resealable bag that keeps them soft and fresh.
