  • Best in taste!
I bought Hoosier Hill Farm Malted Milk because it has less added crap than some others. I have been reducing my white sugar intake and decided to sweeten my coffee with this. Is it still sugar? Yes. Is it tasty and adds a touch of nutrition? Also yes! It also thickens just a touch and makes my coffee a sensory delight! It smells rich, feels rich and smooth and tastes delicious! The reviews that say they can't taste it, Mayne they got old product, or maybe their taste buds aren't what they used to be. Whatever the case, this is my GO-TO product for adding a little sweetness when desired. The product I received seems fresh, and is a much better value than the store brands I've tried. ... show more

  • Hoosier Hill Farm Malted Milk Powder: Nostalgia in a Jar!
Hoosier Hill Farm's Malted Milk Powder is basically a time machine for your taste buds. It brings back all the creamy, dreamy malty goodness of childhood milkshakes and those gooey brownies from the school bake sale. Plus, this 1.5lb tub is huge, so you can malt all the things for what feels like forever. Here's the lowdown: - Tastes like the real deal: This powder is the real McCoy of malted milk flavor, perfect for making crazy thick and delicious milkshakes. - More than just milkshakes: It's not a one-trick pony! This powder also adds a subtle malty kick to cookies, brownies, and even ice cream. Boom! - Easy peasy: Just mix the powder with milk or water, and bam! Malty goodness. No mess, no fuss. - Resealable jar: Keeps the powder fresh for ages, so you can malt on your own time. Heads up: - Not as sweet as those store-bought syrups: This powder is a bit more grown-up in the sweetness department. You can adjust the sweetness to your own liking, which is pretty cool. - Blendier is your friend: While it mixes okay with a spoon, a quick blitz in the blender makes it super smooth, especially for milkshakes. ... show more

  • Great Taste!
Love the malt flavor. It doesn't mix as well as the syrup types but they are too thick to mix well, too. Other than that, the ease of use, taste and price make this a good and wise value. I'm ordering again.

  • Preety good product.
It is not the best I have had, but, I can't find Malt Milk in local stores. It is, however, a good product. I have had others with a more robust flavor, but this is good. People complain it does not dissolve well, but that is the nature of malt powder, it has a lot of solids that do not dissolve, but, if mixed well stay in suspension. There is nothing like malt to give things from milk shakes, to waffles a unique flavor. ... show more

  • Got this to add to nutritional shakes
Nice flavor, not overpowering. Purchased to add calories to a nutritional supplemental shake, for a cancer patient.

  • Not what malted milk used to be
This year I decided I wasn’t going to deny myself things I love just because of price. So I bought some Carnation Malted Milk at the grocery store. One of the first things I noticed was it had a lot of ‘added sugar’ in the nutrition information, but sugar was not listed as an ingredient. Yeah, ingredients do contain sugar, but added sugar is not sugar in the other ingredients. Strike 1. It wasn’t what I remembered. You had to add a bunch to start to taste the malt flavor. Strike 2. On to Hoosier Hill. I decided to try this, although the price was a lot higher. I figured it would have more malt flavor and less sweetness. Comparing the two, it wasn’t much different. And, after reading recent reviews, it seems like this product is not what it used to be. Still lots of 5 star reviews. But Amazon reviews have gone downhill too. Any 5 star review that is no longer than a few words can immediately be discounted. You’re left with complaints that both quality and quantity are lacking. I was considering buying the 25lb bulk package, which would make it only a couple of dollars more than Carnation charges. But based on my comparison, the end result would be the same. Even though Hoosier Hill claims 2tblsp is a serving compared to 3tblsp of Carnation. They’re the same, and need just as much to start to taste the malt. So between Hoosier Hill, Carnation, and Soda Fountain brands, none is great. Carnation is just the cheapest. If you happen to find Carnation Chocolate Malted Milk, skip it. You can’t taste malt at all. Maybe I’ll try grinding up malted milk balls. They still taste like they should. ... show more

  • Cost Effective Replacement for Expensive Malts
The media could not be loaded. Well, I won’t be mentioning the name of a popular red and white canistered, and terrific tasting malted milk powder. But because of its high price, it’s a very expensive way to keep a malted milk loving family happy. I Recently found this brand and am in the process of trying it out. Here’s what I found so far: There’s more of it than what I get in the small canister of the other stuff.. and it costs less as well. The taste is very, very close and unlike the other brand, is a fine powder that mixes beautifully, leaving no clumps. I treat myself every morning with malt in my coffee, and the taste between the two brands is virtually the same. I think it’s time to switch from the brand I’ve used for over 30 years, and buy a new watch with the money I’ll save. ... show more
