For BMW 2022 X3 it worked just fine for me. I was unable to fully disable ASS but I was able to turn the memory on, so that it stays off between engine starts. I was able to disable it entirely but only for awhile. After a few stops it would come back. Odd. You could also set Sport as your default start mode and adjust your Sport settings to Comfort setting. You would still have Sport Plus for racing around. So there are two ways to use this OBDlink to keep ASS off. All this nonsense is BMW's doing (ultimately the governments doing). Not the fault of this OBD or Bimmercode. They can only help you change what can be changed, the fundamental settings can only be changed by BMW. Also, when changing ASS the engine needs to be off. So, anyway, everything else advertised by Bimmercode was there, easy to understand and navigate. Now I can close my tailgate from inside my car and with my remote, instead of being treated like a moron or a fool. I can leave my dog in the car for a few minutes without waking up the entire neighborhood etc. ETC. Good device, super easy to use. No you cannot "code" off the ASS in the latest BMW software. It has been disabled. That's it. No more BMWs for me. ... show more

Kind of expensive. Didn't connect easily, the first time to my '21 328i, but it did eventually check and reset error code. I thought the law required OBD standardization. More than a little annoyed with BMW.

Purchased this to register a replacement battery on a BMW. I've connected it to a 2015 X5, 2018 540i, and a 2019 430xi. All good reliable connections. I was able to clear error codes, check battery charge state, and register a replacement battery using the free version of Bimmerlink. You will need to spend the additional $39.99 for the BimmerLink app. The free software is not terribly helpful for much. Once I bought the Bimmerlink app it did exactly what I needed and was very intuitive. I had to replace the drive cables on the dual sunroof. Of course the actual work was not hard enough without a plethora of trouble codes. I also removed the seats to do a hot water extraction deep cleaning. The triggered error codes which came up for both seats every time I started the car. The Bimmerlink app showed me the trouble codes, identified them as one time codes that were stored. It said that basically the ECU saw this error once but does not see it now. It gave me a little more confidence in placing them in the trash can. Not sure if I did something wrong but I did have to delete the Restraint fault codes twice for some reason. I was afraid they were still being triggered and were going to keep come up. But the second time did the trick and the error codes are gone. The app also has quite an array of parameters it will read. Likely much more than your average owner will ever need. If you leave this unit plugged in, one you won't have to remember where you left it when you need it, but also you only have to open the app and connect to quickly read any error codes.
