I'm pleased at how well this scanner works. I was impressed when a web browser popped up already searching for what I was looking for. This is a pretty well thought out tool that is easy to use, works intuitively and does what it should without jumping though hoops. The only drawback might be you need an internet connection, the good part is it's smart enough to keep everything current. Regardless, you can buy a cheap unit and you'll just spend a lot of time doing what this does in seconds except you won't have the printed out report, the most current updates, wireless connection to the OBD port and easy full color touch screen display. My husband is super excited about it. The car we needed it for, we still had to trace down the wires to find the Pcm issue & one injector wire that wasn’t transmitting. However, it’s got great features, resetting codes, tpm, & all of that. Worked well, but you can get $100 scanner that’ll do a lot of it. It can program keys & things those can’t. All in all, I think we’ll use it plenty with 4 vehicles & 2 more sons about to drive. ... show more

So I'm still learning how to use this tool but let me tell you it has about everything I need to figure out whats going on with our vehicles its already helped figure out my cars alternator was bad I love how I can just plug this in my car and it tells me what's going on with it I think everyone should have one . I really like how it saves you info on each car to about what was wrong . Save your self alot of money and get one you will not be disappointed 💯 mechanics charge alot... ... show more

I’m not a professional mechanic, tho I have been raised to fix my own vehicles as much as I can. In all my years we’ve never used a scanner to determine any root causes, this has always been through a series of tests and identifiers to find the issue, this scanner makes that process a lot simpler. This particular one appears to be a full service scanner, with the ability to assess the entire vehicles system, show codes, and give an overall health grade. The scanner automatically detects the vehicles information, once confirmed it will do a diagnostic check. From here you can list all codes on one screen or you can assess each area by itself. I used this on my wife’s Nissan when the check engine light appeared a day before. I already knew what the issue was tho I thought I test this device on it. It showed the expected issue via the code as well as a few past codes, including low tires codes from a few days before, that have yet to be cleared. Very impressive. This unit does give the option to clear codes, tho I haven’t used that option yet. One issue I did run in to, and this may just be from not being versed in proper use, when I finished I didn’t shut the vehicle all the way down nor did I shut the scanner off as I was going inside to show my wife the codes. Doing this resulted in the battery being drained. It was an odd occurrence, I assume it’s as a result of me not shutting things down, I will test again and find out. This unit is rechargeable, which is nice. Screen is bright, case is durable. On the main screen there is an icon for updates and it shows a small red dot with a number to let you know there are updates available. This does connect to WiFi which is very handy, as when the codes appear, you can tap on the code and it will take you to a Google search engine so that you can read further about the code and now to fix the issue. Very impressed with this scanner. Again, it is my first one, so I don’t have any other experience to compare it to, tho for ease of use and for the detail with the codes given, it’s very nice and much more detailed than is given from the free scans at the auto parts store. ... show more

    • Really great Diagnostic tool! Fast, Versatile and Accurate
MUCAR V06 Scan Tool In the past I have relied on anything from a simple $25 "OBD2 scanner" to a $150+ brand-specific dedicated "scan tool" or even $300+ brand-specific PC-based "diagnostic software" for various family cars including Ford, Chrysler, BMW, and Mercedes. The higher-end devices tend to deliver most or all of the bidirectional features you need to avoid having to spend $100/hr+ at a shop just to diagnose or reset elements of the various onboard computers in a modern car - there are a lot of them: they range from the obvious engine control computer (ECU) to the many other onboard computers dedicated to seatbelts, radio, entertainment system, telemetry, airbags, power windows, power seats, HVAC, steering, transmission, 4x4 transfer case and more! I have had a chance to use this scan tool on several cars already, and I must say I'm very impressed! The device is solidly-constructed with a sturdy plastic case and a durable touch-screen. The wireless OBD2 port "dongle" snaps into the tool conveniently when not in use. Basically what you're getting is a smallish Android-based tablet computer that purpose-built and dedicated to automotive diagnostics. The battery charges quickly and battery life, based on my experience, should be in the 10-20 hour range for continuous use. Much longer on standby. The device can be shut off by holding down the power button as well. The tool boots up quickly, and can also be placed into standby by tapping the power button briefly for instant wake-up as needed. The speed of the user interface as well as the connection and data transfer to/from the car via Bluetooth and the Wifi interface (used for updates via the internet) all point to it having a powerful multicore processor and plenty of RAM. It is smoother and and quicker than all of the brand-specific scan tools that I've owned or used. It's incredibly versatile: it includes vehicle-specific parameters for just about any car you've ever heard of that was manufactured with OBD2. This means it may very well be the only scan tool you need in order to connect-to and interact-with your family's various cars' onboard systems. For me it seems to provide equivalent functionality to the higher-end brand-specific scanners I've used. In addition to the standard CANBUS it supports many other less-common protocols too. Working through menus via the touchscreen when connected to a car is smooth and easy and all results were concise and accurate. Typically all onboard systems include diagnostic codes (DTC) and data streams and all of these that I've encountered were interpreted correctly or accurately read and displayed. If you work on cars a lot or expect to encounter occasional situations where an enhanced bidirectional scanner is helpful this one seems like a great way to get a lot of features and flexibility for a reasonable cost! ... show more
