This is a nice olive oil for basic sautéing and dsalad dressing. Bottle is attractive and not too tall for my cabinet. The cap is a little defective; I can never get it to scemrew back on tightly, its like the threading is off. I just need to be careful. Hoping that's just a fluke.

I am not an expert on Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), but I've spent a lot of time learning about it and I've tried many of the top brands. O-Live is really good value for money. As any good olive oil should, this one comes well packaged and in a dark bottle to protect the contents from oxidation. The oil all comes from a single valley in Chile, which is a good indicator of quality, and it is cold pressed. The flavor is on the mild side, and not nearly as strong as other more expensive EVOOs, but it is quite pleasant and its lower price makes it an easy choice for day-to-day tasks like salads, dressings, and breads. For cooking I often use a cheaper EVOO because cooking tends to break down the flavor anyway. I also use cheap EVOO when I make home-made mayonnaise. Conversely, when I make a special meal or otherwise want the EVOO flavor to stand out, I choose a more expensive from Gaea. Gaea oil is a lot more tasty than this one, but it is also a lot more expensive so I only use sparingly. Yes, I have three different brands of EVOO at home. I like EVOO :-) ... show more
