  • Cuts Well. Go Slow.
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/8 DIA Number of Items: 1
While I can only speak for somebody using this bit in a handheld router, I believe the gist of it would extend to CNC users as well. This is a great, thin bit that I can use in my handheld router when cutting patterns/templates like bowtie inlays and such. It is quite sharp and can get into the tightest radii I would be willing to risk with a handheld machine. Risk is a key word here because such a thin bit is no joke when it comes to fragility. When I first started woodworking, I was unaware of the safety risk of snapping a bit and did so with these solid carbide bits more than once before realizing how lucky I was to have not been injured. Tungsten carbide is a sort of miracle material that power tool users have mostly come to take for granted in modern times. It is hard enough to cut through ferrous materials and even many ceramics, yet it remains relatively affordable and does not suffer from corrosion issues like steel does. However, it does have one major shortcoming... it is very brittle. If you push this bit too hard, it will snap. When it does, it can come flying out of your router at incredibly scary speeds like a projectile shot out of a gun barrel. One would be wise to take their time and go slow when using this bit. Use all of the PPE you have at your disposal. This is important advice even for CNC users, but especially for anyone who is chucking this up in their handheld router. Be careful and go slow; your work and your health will be rewarded for it. ... show more

  • super smooth for an up-cut bit
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/4 DIA Number of Items: 1
I got this bit to use with my CNC router. To test it I compared it with a 2-flute up-cut bit and a 2-flute down-cut, both of them solid carbide bits from Nomad Tools. I tested on a piece of birch plywood that has a strong tendency to make a splintery mess with up-cut bits. In my photo, the Sharpro bit is on the left, followed by the Nomad up-cut and the Nomad down-cut. As you can see, this bit did vastly better than the regular up-cut bit. Depending on the resolution of the photo after Amazon's processing, you *may* be able to see that the down-cut bit left a very slightly cleaner cut than this Sharpro bit. Considering that this bit from Sharpro is a little less expensive than the Nomad up-cut bit (purchased from Carbide 3D), I can't see any reason to get those Nomad bits ever again. If there's any downside to these spiral Sharpro bits, I can't imagine what it might be. ... show more

  • Nice clean cut.
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/8 DIA Number of Items: 1
I use an Upcut Spiral Router Bit to clean up edging on wood sign lettering. Cut is good with this bit. It leave's a nice smooth surface as expected and effectively blows shavings up and out of the lettering. SHARPRO O Flute Upcut Spiral Router Bit is doing a good job when used lightly. This is not my primary cutting bit but is used in a clean up mode. Thus its longevity has not been determined yet. In clean up mode these 1/8 bits can last a good while, but when used as a primary cutter they burn out rather quickly. Other carvers may have different results so there's a bit of a perception problem involved here re: longevity. It's price falls into the midrange for these types of bits which is fine. Just based on current performance and visible inspection, I'm not expecting an early failure or wear-out with this bit. ... show more

  • Another excellent Sharpro bit!

I've got about a half dozen of these Sharpro brand bits now, and they've all been great quality. Finish is excellent as usual. Recommended.

  • Sharp and cuts well
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/8 DIA Number of Items: 1
Out of the package this bit is very sharp and makes easy work of cutting through both hard and soft woods with my CNC router. Have only used it long enough to try it out so far, but no issues and it makes clean cuts.

  • Incredible cutting but quickly broke.
Size: 1/8 SHK 1.5mm DIA Number of Items: 1
This was probably the sharpest router bit I have used and the feel on Douglas Fir was as a hot knife through butter. The problem was that the tip broke off within the first 30 seconds. I don’t know that I can fault the bit which was the smallest (1.5mm) cutting head and I was manually controlling the router. I thought I was moving carefully but …. I see that others have had success with larger cutting sizes. If I have a project that requires the small cutting head in the future I will probably try to rig up a control arm that is likely to minimize any fast movement or find a CNC/robotic controller. ... show more

  • Sharp and well made
Size: 1/4 SHK 1/8 DIA Number of Items: 1
I ordered this for my Milwaukee M18 trim router (which takes only 1/4 in. bits) and it works like a charm. Very sharp and spins true at high speeds. Even though this came to me via the Vine program, I would pay for bits of this quality, and probably will. Recommended.

  • Great bit
Size: 1/8 SHK 1.5mm DIA Number of Items: 1
I really love these bits and they cut aluminum just fine. I was cutting 3/16 thick in one pass today for around 4 hours and had no issues. I will be getting more and I love the price great buy all around.
