    • A couple of days, and I love this unit
4.9 stars, so rounded to 5. Although I talk about some issues here, they pale in significance to what a great price/performer this unit is. First, set up was almost effortless with its copy function from my old Android phone. After the copy and re-signing in to all of my apps, everything worked perfectly, except Signal, which worked but had no history. Solved by deleting the App which had been copied over, the reinstalling it anew and following the directions for copying from the old phone. Then, later, I was playing around testing things and somehow put it into a Screen Talk mode. Problem was, if your screen then goes into Lock Screen mode due to inactivity, you can't unlock the screen with the usual swipe up and PIN entry. The solution is easily found thanks to YouTube (a simultaneous press of the Vol- and Vol+ buttons for 3 secs) but highlighted that the accompanying documentation is VERY limited, and there is no online chat or person support (just email). Had I known these solutions ahead, it would be a solid 5 stars. Hopefully this helps somebody else. But even so, this is a solid price/performer earning my 4.9 stars. ... show more

Full Disclosure: I'm an Apple Guy. From phone to laptop to desktop to everything else they make. But I'm also a frugal guy and wanted to try a budget smartphone for vacations and as a second phone backup when I don't want to risk dropping a pricey piece of electronics into the ocean or leaving behind on trips. The N30 is actually a much better budget option than I expected. It is sleek, slim (...actually super thin when compared to many smartphones...) and pretty sharp thanks to the deep purple outer casing. It really is a good looking phone. The N30 arrives with everything you need to get started. Even a case that fits perfectly. FYI: The case is a flexible, rubbery material, so it's definitely more to protect from dirt, grime and daily wear vs constant drops onto the sidewalk. The purple finish is very cool and modern. Not quite matte, but not shiny either. It has a very smooth to the touch finish. And the camera lens design gives the NUU its own unique look. At 50MP, the camera is good but not great. Fine for your daily snaps. This isn't the camera for your next Oscar winning movie. There are a few modes that make it fun and it certainly will do the trick for the casual photographer. The 6G of RAM and adequate storage (128GB) is enough for surfing, social posting and watching videos and movies. The screen is actually very crisp and clear for 720p. I was impressed. The size of the screen and the super clear glass will make everything look better than 720p for most viewers. The colors are rich and vibrant. As my second/backup phone, I've been using this on WiFi and the performance was better than expected. Changing apps and streaming videos was pretty quick and consistent. Screen powers on instantly and the fingerprint reader works as well as my pricey phone. My only real callout is the sound quality. Meh. It is just ok. You'll get a better experience using your ear buds. Just like big screen TVs - the thinner the chassis, the smaller the speakers, so you get what you would expect from such a slim profile. Also be aware that the NUU doesn't run on every major carrier. If you are using this on the road or thinking of making it someone's first smartphone, that alone may make the decision for you. Bottom line, tho...it is a much snappier, sharper budget phone than you would expect at the price. Plenty of bells and whistles for an average day to day user. The NUU N30 is a budget smartphone that delivers way more than you’d expect for $130. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by how premium it looks—the purple design really stands out, and the phone is lightweight yet sturdy. It’s a bit longer than most phones I’ve used, but it’s comfortable to hold and works well for everyday tasks. I tested the N30 on Wi-Fi only since my main phone already has a SIM card, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed. Apps like Twitch (which I use a lot) ran smoothly with no buffering, and the display is sharp, vibrant, and very clear. The touchscreen is highly responsive, though there’s some minor lag when switching between multiple open windows. However, with just one or two apps running, the phone feels quick and smooth. For this price point, the performance is impressive and delivers more than you might expect. What really impressed me is how ready-to-use the N30 is right out of the box. It comes preloaded with Google apps like Maps, YouTube/YouTube Music, and Gmail, making setup quick and easy. It also features facial recognition, which I set up in seconds—it unlocks instantly when it sees my face, which is super convenient. The settings and configurations are intuitive, so even someone less familiar with smartphones could navigate them without trouble. The 6GB of RAM (expandable virtually to 12GB) and 128GB of storage provide plenty of room for apps, videos, and everyday use. If you need extra storage, the microSD slot is a nice bonus that’s often missing in phones at this price point. The cameras are a mixed bag.
