  • So far so good!
Size: 500g
This product smells like apples and my horse likes it. So far is doing well on it. We started it last week, and have had good luck with Cosequin in the past. What I really like about this one is that it has 10,000 mg of MSM, where as some other brands only have 5,000.

Great product but if ur horse has a sensitive stomach , start with half and go from there. I accidentally gave my horse diarrhea from following directions.

  • Wonderful result with Cosequin ASU
Size: 1320gm
I have a rescue mare in her 20's. She was very sore when she came to me and then became even worse when she developed Cushings and foundered. I was giving her two grams of butte daily plus a vet recommended supplement for joint pain and other arthritis issues. She was not responding to the butte and supplement in a satisfactory way. She continued to get more sore and her walking was becoming so difficult for her I was nearing the decision to put her down and relieve her suffering. A friend who is a highly regarded professional trainer convinced me to try Cosequin. After reading up on Cosequin I chose the ASU version to try. Within four weeks there was noticeable improvement in her movement and by six weeks she was a different horse. While she still has some soreness, she moves all over her pasture including up and down hills with ease. Any thought of putting her down is long gone. She's happy and even jogs to her grain on occasion. I have reduced her butte to one gram a day for the last four weeks and am about to eliminating it to see if she can do without it - I believe she'll do fine on the Cosequin ASU by itself based on her far better than expected response to the product. I am thrilled for this old mare. I highly recommend giving Cosequin products a try. They may not work as well on every horse, but by all means worth a try. ... show more

  • Great joint supplement for horses!
Size: 500g
I purchased a 15 year old Quarter Horse gelding. I was struggling the first couple months of keeping him sound. He went from a arena sand paddock to a very rocky and hard one. I had him trimmed a couple weeks after i got him and he was a little sore (totally expected it) After he appeared sound we went for a couple 1 hour rides and he was lame again (this is after lunging him for a good 20 mins prior to ride). Started him on this joint supplement after a week of seeing if he would show improvement. He seemed to show quite a bit of improvement in less than two weeks. Then I had my farrier put shoes on all 4 hooves. Guess what!? he wasn;t even sore or lame after the farrier! This product is pricey $65 for 2 weeks to build it up in their system, then it's 1 scoop/day for maintenance. (or $65/can a month) . My boy is worth it and it's doable with a couple horses, if I had more I'd probably find something a little more affordable for maintenance. ... show more

  • Works but may be hard to tolerate
Size: 1320gm
I am a 65 yr old physically active woman with a few aches and pains in my left knee and hip. I tried this product when the vet recommended Cosequin ASU for my horse and I realized my dog was also on the canine formulation, Dasuquin. Cosequin actually has scientific evidence showing effectiveness in horses, and my dog had improved on the Dasuquin recommended by a small animal vet. So, I was thrilled to find the human version, Cosemin. It did seem to ease the left sided joint/tendon issues, and so I really tried to stay on it. Unfortunately it gave me rip-roaring heartburn, not relieved significantly by omeprazole. This side effect is listed in bold letters on the package insert. Darn it! ... show more

  • Cosequin ASU for Horses
My horse is a spotted saddlebred and is 20 years old. I work for a private mounted security company in The Woodlands Texas. We ride our horses around the Woodlands Mall, Business District, Resturant and Waterway 10 hours a day. This product has made a marked difference in the way my horse feels walking on pavement all day. He does not experience the sore musles or joints that he had when I first started this job. I started useing Glucosamine/Chondroitin myself about 10 years ago because I was a cement mason for years and my knees were shot. I started taking the Glucosamine/Chondroitin and within 6 months my knees improved 150% from where they were. I figured that a Glucosamine formula for horses could be benificial for my horse. I contacted my vet and he recomended I contact the maker of Cosequin ASU since they have been making supliments for animals for a long time and it would be the only product he would recommend because of its quality. I highly recommend this product for any one that has a senior horse who is still very active and wants to provide him with a suppliment that will make his senior years more comfortable. ... show more
