I have a pool area that is Hawaiian themed. Decided to go Tiki on the roof of my LifeTime shed. This shed is made of Polyethylene and cannot be glued on or painted on. So I stapled the thatch using an electric stapler with 3/8” x 1/2 inch leg staples. Came out good. Sure it’s not natural thatch but I saved thousands on using real material and wood strips. Thatch is ok. Backing is nice as it helps make more waterproof and easy to attach …. Only comment on negative side is that it “shed” lots. First when it came as many ooose pieces where there were bare spots and then in handling it

I used this to staple to a wood board I secured to my parrots outside play area. So far it's doing great. It does come in strip not one big wide peice so u need to layer them but it's great so far and helping keep the sun and water out.
