  • Peaceful andor Happy Vibes Soundtrack
I admit that I happened to unintentionally discover this music collection that is Now That’s What I Call Rock less than 4 months ago when I spotted it at a Target store. Then a great amount of time later, I was able to use my Amazon music subscription to listen and enjoy this collection before choosing to also eventually purchase the digital music collection here on Amazon via money from my most recent employment. Right away, on the first day I listened to this music collection I played the whole entirety twice in a row because listening to Now That’s What I Call Rock boosted my mood. This music collection is best for eclectic music listeners who enjoy classic rock songs, love songs, andor soft rock songs because of the multiple artists featured: Africa by Toto, This is It by Kenny Loggins, Baby I Love Your Way by Peter Frampton, Baby Come Back by Player,Brandy You’re A Fine Girl by Looking Glass, I’m Not In Love by 10CC, What You Won’t Do For Love by Bobby Caldwell, Escape The Pina Colada Song by Rupert Holmes, Love Will Find A Way by Pablo Cruise, and more. ... show more

  • Now that's what I call soft rock
To start with, I've never actually been aboard a yacht but I can easily imagine these tracks playing from someone's smartphone or Amazon Echo while sipping a scotch on the rocks. Listening to these tracks again brings back a lot of childhood memories. For those who don't know, the term "yacht rock" wasn't invented until the mid-2000s. Before then it was simply known as soft rock and it flourished mostly during the '70s and '80s. Many of the tracks here however are in their edited and/or single versions. For example Chuck Mangione's instrumental "Feels So Good" originally ran 9 minutes but the edited version is only 3 minutes which made him call it "major surgery". Also. 10cc's "I'm Not In Love" was originally 6 minutes. The lead vocalist on "How Long" is Paul Carrack (Mike + The Mechanics). With 18 tracks and running less than 70 minutes it's hardly a definitive collection but it's a nice overview and great introduction to one of music's most memorable genres. Maybe a follow up to this one would be nice. Here are the years the songs peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 and positions: Feels So Good- #4, 1978 Africa- #1, 1983 This Is It- #11, 1979 Cool Change- #10, 1980 Baby I Love Your Way (Live)- #12, 1976 Baby Come Back- #1, 1978 Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)- #1, 1972 Escape (The Pina Colada Song)- #1, 1979 What You Won't Do For Love- #9, 1978 Couldn't Get It Right- #3, 1977 How Long- #3, 1975 I Just Wanna Stop- #4, 1978 We Just Disagree- #12, 1977 Crazy Love- #17, 1979 Jackie Blue- #3, 1975 Love Will Find A Way- #6, 1978 I'm Not In Love- #2, 1975 Longer- #2, 1980 Total Time- 68 min 5 sec ... show more

  • Phenomenal Collection!!💙
This is my first vinyl purchase of the “NOW…” series, and I am astounded by the sound quality. Absolutely amazing clarity, and fidelity. Crystal clear! No hiss, clicks, pops or surface noise. Music segues perfectly from one track to another. Pleasantly exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be collecting this series. ... show more
