I was super skeptical of buying this because of some of the reviews, but I’m glad I did. A “vintage” version of this exact same thing would sell for much more. It holds all my records well and the drawers are smooth. No damage to it at all. The only issue I had was that it arrived a day later than expected, but thankfully I was in no rush. It was easy to put together (I did it by myself) and only needed help carrying it upstairs in the box - its 78 pounds and awkward to carry. I only used a screwdriver (it said you needed a hammer but I never actually needed to use one). I’ve put together lots of ikea furniture and I would say this is about the same as that, if not a little easier. Just follow the directions closely and you’ll be fine! I don’t normally review stuff, but I hate to think that I almost didn’t get this because of all the bad reviews. If you’re looking for an ikea-quality record stand that is stylish, affordable, and easy to assemble, I highly recommend it! ... show more

Overall, you get what you pay for with this turntable stand. It was poorly packaged, with many of the styrofoam pads completely destroyed. Several of the boards were scratched or damaged. I wasn't going to ship it back, so I didn't bother to complain about the damage. However, it was pretty easy to build. The only real problem was getting the back panels on. There are two of them and they are just a tiny bit too small for the area. I ended up skipping the top panel because it only covers the area behind the drawers. For the most part, the unit is pretty sturdy. The drawer bottoms are basically a sheet of cardboard and I doubt they will hold up to much weight over a few years of use, but I anticipate the rest of the unit will last. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product to friends or purchase another Novogratz product, but it will serve it's purpose for the time being. ... show more

I bought this stand as a compact way to house my turntable (on top) and go-to vinyl in the bottom. For the money, this item provides a lot of value in a stylish, mid-century look. The instructions were well done and clear. No issues setting it up alone. The company also provides a lot of dimension and weight load details which I appreciated considering the heft of my gear. The only real cons is that it doesn't offer an adjustable base or feet for leveling, but that's OK as my TT has adjustable legs. The biggest issue is that there are no holes behind the top shelf for wiring to come through. I put my amp and CD player on that top shelf but ended using a hole-saw to get my wires through. Ultimately I could live with it, but it does kind of beg the question... if this is an audio stand, how does one deal with wiring? ... show more

This is quite possibly the most functional piece of furniture I’ve ever owned. So many turntable stands and vinyl storage consoles are designed to sit so low that a 6’ 5” tall guy like me basically has to sit on the floor to use them. The top of this stand is 34” high, so I can comfortably set up a record to play without leaning down so far. There is also room to prop up the cover of the album that’s playing in front of the lower shelf record bins, and the closed back of the console hides the cord from my turntable. Combine those points with the retro hairpin legs, and the whole setup has a pretty slick, vintage appearance. Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT a fan of MDF. It’s so cheap and doesn’t usually hold up well over time. It also can get scratched and dented, and this piece came out of the box with a dented corner and a few marks on one of the side panels where the laminate was scratched to white. But it’s really difficult to find anything made out of real wood that is exactly the same height and design as this stand. Plus, this piece is a total steal for the price.     • Lovely cabinet - nightmare to put together...

Bought this for my Son (newly obsessed with vinyl records). Took me a good 4 and a half hours to assemble (at a leisurely pace...probably could have cut that time in half if I'd just focused on the assembly and nothing else). I will say up front I HATE cam locks. They're made of cheap porous metal and will break if not careful. I've assembled dozens of furniture pieces with these cams. They are molded cheaply and quickly which can cause the cams to either have flaws (burrs that get in the way of locking capabilities) or they're not fully molded, so the cams are more rounded in areas and the cams do-not-lock. I have a gorgeous desk assembled with these cams. I love this desk, but every three to four weeks I have to lay under the desk with a flashlight - open one of the drawers and reach up into a corner with a screw driver to re-tighten the one cam that comes loose on it's own. If I don't tighten it (over half a turn - the cam bolt loosens almost completely out of the cam) the whole drawer section will sag in the middle. Eventually this is going to break, but I've managed to remember to tighten it every month for the last 6 years so... Aside from the cams and the occasional cam bolt splitting the cheap pressed board material during assembly (hidden/unseen when finished - so that helps), and the metal wires that hold the records (also not fully molded - so they pop up/wont stay in on a few of the holes that they insert into - or - they are melted on the ends/not cured well enough, so they are big blobs that wont fit into the holes they are supposed to go into), I'm happy with the purchase (about 135.00 w/tax). A little more R&D at the Factory and this could be a perfect piece. I still give it 5 stars - as it truly is a beautiful design and looks amazing when complete. ... show more
