  • No complaints!
Got them for my kid to go hiking and wear for her outdoor BSA troop events. First time wearing them she hiked 4 miles. No blisters, no problems. She said they felt fine. She wears women’s 7-71/2 and we got the 7 1/2.

  • Average in every way
OK so after several days walking in these I have a few thoughts...these are perfectly fine and average. They lace up easily, my fingers love that! They lace up high enough that they will cover my ankles during tick season and hold my sock in place over my pants. Love this! They are not comfy. I will NOT be taking another hike until I purchase inner soles. I find ZERO give in the sole and it feels much like walking on wood. Not pleased to have to invest in additional cost. Obviously as new boots they do not bend or flex well, the sole again is rigid and more like a work boot sensation than a hiking boot. I don't know the technical term but I find I am "clomping" about in them, if this does not improve with a few more miles on them I will just donate them. Fit: I feel like the toe box is off. It feels a bit shorter than usual and wider than expected. I had to argue quite a bit with the laces to get it where my toes were not touching the front of my boot. OVERALL: They will do for now. As soon as I find a better pair at a thrift shop I will be swapping these out. They serve well for snowy trails I can't move quickly on and shorter bird walking ventures, but I don't see myself using these for more strenuous hikes ever. I would much rather wear wet socks and sneakers than try to climb over rocks in these. So for the price, if you want a pair of boots for casual hikes with lots of stopping on flat ground these will be perfect. A low cost beginner hiking boot is honestly what these are. ... show more

  • Willbe great when they fit
Size: 7 Color: Medium Brown/Dark Purple
Hot damn these are big. Like a full 3/4 of a size. One of the pics shows me pointing to where my big toe hits in them. I was disappointed bc I was super looking fwd to these and after a really stupid and annoying snow storm hit NJ all shipments were stuck for a couple extra days, making prime useless this week. So on top of them not fitting really, I had already waited a few days of delay for them. I packaged them back up to exchange. I like them otherwise. So I am going against my usual and actually going through the trouble of exchanging sizes. I have included some pics here. They are comfortable otherwise a tiny bit clunky but I think that was bc if the size. My feet are very sensitive to shoes that are too big it’s like an insane short circuit in my brain. I can’t walk right. The toe clips the ground, they feel clunky I feel fat... it’s this whole thing that happens when a shoe is too big. So.... size aside, they are ok. I like the colors. My laces were in tact, no threads or ripped soles like some of the other pics on here. They were packaged fine. Clearly brand new. Hopefully I can update with correct fit. Update April 2020: i did in face exchange these for the right size, and I still have these boots and still wear them regularly. Whether it’s wintery stuff, it’s a summer hike I wear these. They look good with leggings and jeans alike. They’ve held up perfectly not a thing wrong with them. They look exactly like they did when I got them. ... show more

  • Disappointed my feet don't work well in them
I so wanted to love these boots. Pros: the laces are wide set so if you have two pairs of socks on or wide feet, you can let the laces out a bit. Have narrow feet - pull the laces tighter! Traction and grip on sole was decent for our mostly wooded trails. We've done some rocky hiking and they stood up to it though I'm not sure they were the best choice for slippery rocks had we been on any more of an incline (we were in an area where rocks were the stairs and coming down a few I questioned my grip/stability). Great ankle support, and because laces extend up you can pull tighter or release for more wiggle room/ size of ankles. Material seems very durable and breathable. I only wore them twice but you couldn't tell at all that one trek had been through the mud. Unfortunately, I must need a wider toe base than these offer because our second trip, where the rock climbing took place, is where my feet really began to scream in agony. My pinky toe was rubbed raw by the pressure along the inside of the shoe and no amount of shifting, adjusting, retying or sock movement abated the irritation. I don't blame the shoes for being made poorly - I think it's just a style of shoe with a narrower toe. I may give them another shot if we do any more hiking this fall on the dirt trails - no more rock climbing/hiking in these! All that being said, the boots were a great price if the size you need is available. If you prefer New Balance shoes because of the extra space around your toes, than these are not going to be a good fit. ... show more

  • Runs larger. Order size smaller
Ran larger then expected. I’m usually a size 9 and these were way larger. Would have been good with an 8. Very good traction though. Hiked up Grandfather Mountain in NC and they were great!

  • So far, pretty great
Size: 10 Color: Medium Brown/Dark Purple
These boots came exactly as advertised. I wear a 9.5 usually, but they don't have that size, so got the 10 and figured if it's a bit loose, I'll double up on socks. Love the brown color with bits if purple accents. So great. I was careful lacing them because I read one review where the eyelet broke right out of the box. No issues with mine, though and I have narrow feet so I made sure they were tight. There is room at the toe in a size 10, but not much at all so I could wear two pairs of socks to fill it and be perfectly comfortable. Because of that, these run true to size. Not bigger, not smaller. Plenty of tread on the bottoms too so Im happy about that. I'll be camping and hiking in the woods for 10 days so we'll see how they hold up! ... show more
