I’m using this rope for tree cutting. I needed a very strong rope that I could trust not to stretch or mostly break. So far I have really tested it by using it to pull trees in the direction I wanted them to fall. It refuses to stretch and has even exceeded well past the needed strength. Overall this is great option for anybody needing a spare length of rope to use now and then. What I will say is that right out of the box it's not good for climbing. The rope itself is plenty strong, but like with most things, the weak link isn't the main product. In this case it's the carabiners and rope terminations that I just wouldn't trust with my safety. One of the carabiners seems to be slightly bent to the point where the threaded clasp can't fully lock the carabiner. Additionally the rope terminates in a very strange way, it's just got some thread going through each side, sewing it together. It's still plenty strong for most use cases, but seeing as how they billed this rope as "For Climbing", it feels a little disingenuous. ... show more

Personally, I have no desire to go rock climbing or any other climbs that require a rope. I do however like to be prepared in case someone falls or slips down a steep surface. I had issues earlier this year where my dog when down a steep embankment into mud and couldn't get back up, then my son slid down to help him up and got stuck as well... I wish I had this rope that day. The rope has strong feeling carbiners on each end feels very sturdy over all. I have no doubt it would work well for climbing, or just as an emergency rope. It is not overly heavy and fits in the one of my long side pockets on my pack. I feel that much more prepared having this with me in case I need it, whether that be for assistance getting out of a steep area, or just holding up an emergency shelter in unexpected weather. It is also priced very reasonable at current listing price of 19.99. If i didn't already own this item now, I would purchase one. ... show more

I didn't look closely at the thickness and thought I was ordering a much lighter-gauge paracord—as a hiker but not a climber, I mostly just wanted a longer camp clothesline. 😂 This cord will certainly hold your heaviest, wettest gear with no problem! And then some—it's plenty heavy duty for a wide range of camp tasks, from hauling food stores out of critter reach to suspending tarps or hammocks, tying down cargo, tying up a boat, or even as a winch strap or tow rope in a pinch. I actually got this as a practice rope, to work on knots and rigging in the back yard, will probably get some tree trimming use time next summer, but its a very nice rope, i'm happy with it even with the delay in arrival.
