2nd update after a couple of months use: I now really love the mattress. It has softened a bit and it no longer makes me feel sore. My boyfriend has LOVED this mattress from the first night he slept on it but he weighs far more than I do so that may be the key. It might just be perfect for heavier sleepers from the start. I will say that it doesn’t really have great side support if that matters to you... I don’t care about that as much as I thought I would, really. I just want a supportive, comfortable bed where I can get a good night sleep and this is now the perfect mattress! Maybe it took a little time to soften or maybe I just needed to get used to the firmness after sleeping on a conventional pillow top. But the bottom line is that I love it now and wanted to let you know... I’m going to change my review to 5 stars! Update: If you want a very firm mattress this may be what you’re looking for. It’s been over a month and it’s not much better. I really REALLY want to like this mattress but I’m sore all the time now, especially in the morning right when I get up. It’s the firmest bed I’ve ever had. When I lie on my side my hand falls asleep and my fingers tingle. I have wide shoulders and hips and a small waist so maybe I just need a softer pillow top mattress to fill in the gaps. I may look into returning it soon... for reference I am 5’4” and about 135lbs , mostly in my hips and thighs. Maybe that makes a difference. Also, another annoyance is that the side compresses to the side bed rail when you sit on the very edge. original review: I bought 3 of these mattresses for my new house. All are on platform beds. I’ve never had a hybrid or memory foam mattress, only traditional mattresses. The king bed got lost in delivery somewhere so I had to wait an extra week for that one so I slept on one of the full beds... it was wonderful. Super comfortable and I was happy I decided to venture into the hybrid world. Fast forward a week to when my king bed arrived... it is so SO FIRM... I can sleep on almost anything so I decided I would just get used to it. First day... I had weird left forearm and hand pain... strange, wasn’t sure what that was about... second day the exact same thing started on the other arm and hand... that eased a bit but by the end of the week my leg and foot started to hurt.. I immediately recognized that as sciatica, which I’ve had before from a pinched inflamed nerve in my lower spine. Dr says the mattress is just way too firm and the arm/hand pain is the same thing, just higher in the spine. I’m super sore and stiff when I get up in the morning too which has never happened before. I’ve gone back to sleeping on the full (exact same mattress) and everything is calming down. Why is the king bed so so much firmer? If it doesn’t soften up a bit soon I’ll have to return for something else... it’s a shame because the fulls are wonderful. ... show more

Surgery sent me into the guest bedroom and the mattress that was on the bed was doing more harm than good, but I didn't want to spend a whole lot on a spare room. Bingo! This mattress did the trick. Very comfortable and not hot. The only reason I knocked off one star for comfort is that the initial firmness may not be to everyone's liking but that firmness quickly melts to conform to your body once you've laid down. ... show more

6 month review: I don’t usually update on reviews but honestly I am so happy with this purchase I thought I should share! I have now had the mattress for a full 6 months and love it just as much as I did when I first purchased it. I have also had friends sleep over and point out how comfortable it is. I do rotate the mattress regularly when I change sheets and have not noticed any dipping (this was what I was most afraid of) but I’m also single and can sleep where ever I want in the king mattress. Would definitely buy again! I have owned Serta pillow top beds my entire life (3 total) and was so scared to try out something completely different not to mention something I can’t lay on before I purchase. But I’m SOOO happy I did it finally!!! First let’s start with the unboxing. It was super easy! I’m a single lady and bought a king and was able to move it in by myself and unbox it. First thing I did notice thought was the SMELL OMG. It was seriously OVERWHELMING! My entire house smelt SO bad!!! I wanted to rough it out and just sleep in the bed the first night I had it and that was honestly a mistake. I wake up super early for work and shower at night and I could smell the mattress on myself at work the next day and it was seriously nauseating. I can’t even explain the smell. So if you do purchase the mattress I don’t suggest throwing sheets on and sleeping in it the first night. Give it time to breath maybe even open a window or something 😂 I was honestly having strong regrets about buying the mattress in fear that the smell was so strong it’d never go away. BUT GOOD NEWS IT HAS!! Now to the actual review! I LOVE THIS MATTRESS!! I’m soooo happy I went with the nod! I didn’t even realize I needed and wanted something more firm than my pillow top that I tossed and turned on all night. But it’s not too firm. It’s just perfect! I had wanted the original tuft and needle for awhile until I spent a week sleeping on one at my fams cabin and thought it was WAY too firm so I’m happy I went with this one. I’m a side sleeper and my hips and lower back were hurting on the reg and it was definitely time for a change. I like that the bed doesn’t swallow me and is easy to get out of. (I had a memory foam topped on my pillow top the last year and it was horrible in that way) Not to mention the price is so good! Very happy :) ... show more
