    We bought this to replace the terrible mattress that came with our travel trailer. So we were looking for something not too thick, not too heavy, while still being comfortable. This was a little softer than I expected but with the trailer bed platform, there ended up being plenty of support. I was even able to sleep on my stomach without hurting my back, so success there. And I sleep super hot and did not feel too hot, although I did also use a plush cooling mattress pad.     for three years i had a cheaper, good quality mattress but it was just way too firm for me. it wouldn't give at all, so i put a topper on. cue the start of back problems! those toppers are incredibly comfortable but over time they really do put so much stress on your back and hips. i would wake up in pain every day and it would be so difficult to get out of bed. this tuft & needle mattress is game changing!! it's the perfect level of firmness where you don't sink into the bed, you can still get out of bed, but it's still comfortable and provides the best level of support. it's only been two nights but i can already feel such a huge difference in my sleep quality and restfulness. ... show more

      • Love this mattress! Wish it was a bit thicker.

    I've had this for about a week and love it! It's so comfortable. I was looking for a soft mattress, as I'm a side sleeper and suffer from shoulder pain. Had tried other so-called plush mattresses but they were too hard, and realized I find memory foam uncomfortable. I've never tried a foam mattress before, but this is great. It's hard to describe the feel, but you sink in where needed, like shoulders and hips, and it feels soft and comfortable. But you also feel like you're supported by a firm layer underneath so don't have a 'sinking' sensation. You also don't have to 'wait' for it to mould around you like memory foam, it gives immediately, and springs back immediately. My husband finds it weird that you don't have any 'bounce' like you do with a spring bed. The edge support is also a little soft, but not too bad. I just wish it was thicker, as our headboard now has a big gap which looks odd, and it means I can't use this with my other guest beds which have an even bigger gap. It would be great to have another inch of the soft foam on top for the same price. They do sell other thicker mattresses, but they're much more expensive, I like that this one is (just about) on the 'budget' end of the spectrum. ... show more

    I've slept on this mattress over 3 years now and it's still supportive and comfortable, with no low spots. That says a lot for someone in their 60s and with lots of bad discs. I almost gave up trying to find the right mattress. It's the only one that filled the bill after trying adjustable air mattresses, hybrids, and more traditional ones including "hotel-quality" mattresses well north of $1,000. We never bothered with Tempurpedic because I easily get hot, and they are known for being that way. Not this one. This is not a soft or firm mattress. I consider this a medium mattress, slightly on the firm side. I can't speak for back or stomach sleepers, because I'm solely a side sleeper, but my wife likes it and we bought one for her mother who also likes hers. I recommend trying it out at least a week, especially if you're new to this type of mattress, before determining it doesn't work for you, even if it initially feels too soft or too firm. You can't beat the cost either. And it's nice that Amazon sells it directly in case you don't like it, eliminating the much of the hassle other sellers will put you through. ... show more
