Well, despite the warnings of previous buyers, I had to find out for myself. What I received was not what was pictured. And of course, it does not work. As one previous reviewer stated: whoever designed this PCB was smoking crack that day. The traces to the tube socket do not line up to what the tube itself requires. All you'll get is a shorted out circuit. So save your money unless you want a neat little voltage divider. In order for tubes to work properly, you really have to ramp up the voltage. This circuit does so with a voltage multiplier.... A bunch of caps and diodes crank up that initial 6 volts to over 250, which in my opinion was a pretty nifty little circuit. But they had to go and ruin it by screwing up the tube socket's position; and its not something you can just pull out the socket and solder it back in the right way... Its in the PCB design. I mean, they actually copied someone's circuit and then messed up the placing of the tube socket. Its hard to explain but it looks like they got it upside down and reversed... So backwards in 2 plains. Just take a look at the pics. You can see that it is 180 degrees rotated. So the "Screen" faces the wrong way. not only does this make it look ridiculous, it shorts the whole circuit, making it worthless. It is just incredibly disappointing. This circuit had real potential. I'd love to have one that works but from reading the reviews, all they have is the same messed up design. $30 just flushed down the toilet. If for some reason, I get a replacement that works, I will absolutely change my review. But for now, this is my advice... DO NOT BUY THIS NON-WORKING HEAP OF POOR CIRCUIT DESIGN. They are trying to dump a bunch of non-working junk to as many people as possible and counting on a good percentage of them wont return it. ... show more

    • Didn’t work day one
The tube is not facing the direction shown in pictures. The tube is crooked like this company. I plugged it in immediately shorted out luckily my power supply is protected. I’m guessing either a bad diode. I thought maybe polarity was wrong but it still didn’t work. This product could be great but who ever is Assembling these is most definitely smoking crack. This product has a QC sticker on the bottom that says passed. Seems like quality control for this company is also on crack. I would avoid this product. The $27 they charged me I’m assuming went to buy crack. I’ll take a loss this time. Crack heads 1 me 0 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I think I voided any warranty... It was exactly what I needed for my computer UV project, it works just fine, is bright enough to stand out from the other tubes and meter lights and its responsive. Its just as described, if you want to add it to a stereo or use as a desk toy then remember you have to add your own audio jack, it works fine off an RCA level signal. ... show more

THANK YOU FOR NOT PUTTING A BLUE L.E.D. ON IT!!!!! OR ANY LEDS FOR THAT MATTER!!!:) it reacts well, seems to be calibrated from the factory well. is attractively put together. 5v dc is nice my tube was a little dirty upon arrival but cleaned up fine. i do wish it had "feet" instead of just screws on the bottom. but its not a problem. product does not match the listing shown and the vacuum tube is incorrectly orientated. Not only that, the device never powered on even using a adjustable power supply to meet power specifications. I had ordered another one thinking I had gotten a bad unit and the replacement was broken in the same way and didn't function. I wouldn't purchase this product until the item stock has been checked and all broken units have been removed. would leave less than a star, not cool selling broken stuff. ... show more
