I've got to say a few things about this watch regarding the accusations about it being fake. First of all I'm not saying that its out of the question that anything that you order online could be counterfeit, but I do feel like some of the so called tell tales that other commentators have eluded to do not mean that the watch is fake. The watch should come with a box and instructions, if it doesn't then i would be concerned. The person that said that the date being red instead of black is because the date was on Sunday, it appears black on week days. I called Nixon and asked them about the number and the "CE" notation on the back, they said that is a legitimate marking. He asked where i bought it to check if the source was an authorized retailer.I told him I ordered it on Amazon, and that it was SOLD by "Amazon.com LLC" as it stated on my order. He said that if the order was fulfilled by Amazon then it is a genuine watch. Nixon sells directly to Amazon, and Amazon ships to the customer. I think the differences people see or compare their older watches to are just incremental style changes that happen over the years. Thats my 2 cents in case anyone is on the fence based on concerns of it being illegitimate. And if it seems questionable to you, send it back! On another note i love this watch and the style, no complaints so far, very clean looking and I love the gun metal color December 2018 update: still love the watch and it’s working as well as the day I got it. I couldn’t help but notice the reviews about people having to send them back because of issues with the date. Listen up: To set the day of the month, set the time to 6:00, then push the crown in slightly and turn it towards you. The day will change with each turn. When you turn it the opposite way, the day of the week will change. It will first abbreviate the day in English, and then move to the same day in Spanish. If you leave it in English it will stay in English. If you leave it in Spanish, it will stay in Spanish. It’s not that hard people! Read the instructions. Sunday is the only day of the week that will be in red. This doesn’t mean that the watch is fake. ... show more

Watch is great. Quality product, not a fake, well made construction... exceeded my expectations. BUT when I received the watch it was a bit snug. So, I looked inside the packaging for the additional links (customary for a watch with links) and could not find any. I contacted Amazon about this, they referred me to the seller/vendor... which was Zappos. After a few messages back n forth and even talking to a person on the phone with Zappos about this.. the basic message I got from Zappos.. "Sorry, we aren't responsible for this and maybe Amazon can help you." Finally I got tired of this & just went to Nixon directly & they were WAY better to deal with. They confirmed there was supposed to be extra links in this packaging.. they said they would ship it out to me asap. I only had to cover $7 shipping. Sorry, but as a vendor selling product on Amazon aka Zappos should be responsible for this product they provide & ensure what should be there.. IS THERE. All in all, watch is great... just hope you get all the accessories that are standard with any purchase. ... show more

TL;DR - simple, classy, stylish. Overall, I like it. Would most likely buy it again [if it were 10 - 20% cheaper I would definitely be a repeat customer]. General comments: - It's a larger men's watch [this seems to be the trend nowadays] - The band is smooth and I haven't noticed it catching onto skin/clothing. - The crystal [glass plate] looks fragile, but it feels fairly sturdy It also has a fairly nice polish to it. - Design is sleek [especially considering the size of the watch]. The watch face isn't too thick or bulky. - Casual enough to be worn on a regular basis, but definitely spices up more formal attire. Potential Concerns: - Having received a watch that was dead on arrival, I worry a bit about its inner workings [nothing's gone wrong just yet so fingers are crossed!] - The hand look a bit flimsy, but they get the job done - Chances are you can find a watch which is more sturdily built but doesn't look as nice. Not to say that this watch isn't well constructed, but just voicing concerns re: the 1st watch that arrived dead on arrival. Additional notes: - My watch came dead on arrival, but it was painlessly replaced by Nixon. So +1 for great customer service! ... show more

This is absolutely the best purchase I've made on Amazon or probably ever. I love nixon watches and this is 110% genuine, authentic, brand new, legitimate nixon merchandise!! I litterally bought a second watch an hour after I unboxed this because it's such an amazing steal! (76% off the MSRP) I got my SS sentry here for 65$ after tax, i paid over 280$ after tax for the same watch at zumiez what a dumb waste of money. The watch felt cheap and flimsy so I returned it..I have other Nixon watches that feel the same but I only I paid 100$ but this watch was retail over 250$ if this is a real Nixon time to move on to other brand that offers better quality for your money

I'm not sure why the gunmetal on gunmetal model in particular was heavily discounted at $129 compared to over $200 for the rest, but hey I'll take it. I've been looking for a watch that looks great and isn't too expensive, because I can't hang onto very nice expensive things. I was considering a MVMT watch, but it felt very cheap when I held it in my hands. I have had Nixon watches in the past and I've always liked them, so I decided to stick with what I know. The clasp mechanism is slightly too hard to open, but I imagine this is because it's new and will "break in" over several uses. ... show more
