  • Power! Unlimited Power!
This impact is fantastic. It doesn't matter if it's "the most powerful" on the market, it's simply very, very strong for a half inch impact gun. And because of the incredible smoothness of the twin/pin clutch mechanism, it's deceptively powerful. You don't feel the vibration or hear super loud hammering that suggest its really working hard. Rather, it's incredibly smooth, relentlessly powerful, and quiet enough that you don't even need ear protection while using it. I recently did suspension work on my vehicle using this newly-acquired gun and it had enough power to break loose some very rusted control arm bolts even using a wobble extension plugged into a wobble extension plugged into the socket. As experienced impact users now, extensions will kneecap the power of any impact. And Doubling them up will knock any impact down to size, especially with a wobble AT AN ANGLE. No matter. The Honey Badger of impact guns doesn't care. It just gives you smooth power that always seems enough. At 8" long, this is not a compact impact gun. It's very much a full size tool and not something for tight spaces. But since you can use extensions with it and have enough power still, it really opens up some possibilities. It's also somewhat heavy. Not heavier than anything else of comparable size in this class (IR 2235TI for example) but could be difficult to use for someone not used to a full size impact weight. The overall fit and finish are very good. The anvil has a friction ring design that fits socket perfectly-- not too tight, not too loose. Finally, lots of power is useless if you cannot control it effectively. The trigger has excellent throttle control and makes it easy to use without wrecking fasteners. Not the cheapest gun around, but a heck of a value. HIGHLY recommended. ... show more

  • Better than snapon & ingersoll
Good price for 1/2 gun. Strongest one you can get. Proves tool trucks aren’t always the best choice.

  • Very good impact gun
Just recently I have tried to remove the anode rod from my old water heater and failed. I was using my 3/4" breaking bar with a pipe extension, but I could not hold the tank itself. Then I tried my HF 1/2" impact gun at 120 psi air pressure and failed again. The anode rod has a 3/4" NPT thread and it's been in place for 15 years. So I searched for the strongest 1/2" gun on the market and came up with Nitrocat 1250K. I bought it from Amazon. It came in a nice cardboard box with the Aircat bag and some paperwork. The operating instructions lists max torque at 90 psi air supply as 950 ft-lb and weight as 4.5 lb. Declaration of conformity lists max torque as 1300 ft-lb and weight as 4.3 lb. It is very easy to check the weight since I have a precision calibrated scale. It came to 4.855 lb without any accessories or fittings attached. It is still significantly lighter than my HF gun. It is much more difficult to check the torque rating. This is what I did. I have torqued several 1-1/8" hex cap screws to 600 ft-lb with a torque wrench (max torque on the wrench) and used Nitrocat to remove them. I have used 3/4" impact socket and a 1/2" adapter. 1250K did not hesitate to remove all the screws at 100 psi air supply. Later it removed my anode rod with no problem. It was not rusted in place, just very tight. There are a couple of things that I don't like. The 1/2" square part of the anvil is very short at .350", it should have been a little longer. The air inlet has a 23 mm hex, which is non-standard and you have to use an adjustable wrench to torque the fitting. Also the instruction does not say a word about lubricating the hammer case. It is important you do that periodically - there is a port in the hammer case with a set screw just for that. Despite these few drawbacks I like the gun and hope it will last for many years with a light hobby use. For intermittent use it is not important how big your compressor or air tank is. My compressor is a little Makita with 3.3 CFM @ 90 psi and 2.2 gal tank. I use it to pump an auxiliary 11 gal tank and this is where I connect my impact gun. What is very important is the air flow to the tool. Impact guns need a lot of air flow to develop full torque. I am using 3/8" fittings on mine with a short 3/8" hose to help the flow. Do not forget to check the output valve on your tank to make sure it does not restrict the flow. ... show more

  • I got a great deal on mine.
I went by the YouTube video's online. I was sold. I got a great deal on mine. It was previously purchased and returned. I don't know why as it was in near perfect condition. It's much quieter then a normal compressor gun that has two hammer's in it. So as this doesn't have the same hammer system. it's much more quieter when pulling the Triger on a job and has less vibration. That said it's well balanced and will leave your wrist with less fatigue when your done. I got a great deal for a much lower price then paying for new. So, I'm even happier then having to pay full price for the same thing. I would have purchased a new one. But, for 39% percent off of what I would have paid. I got a great buy without the original box. And, a great tool. I also got the AirCat 1250KBB Protective Cover for my 1250-K. It say NitroCat on it and is a perfect match for protecting your tool investment. Also, as a added bit of information. Do yourself a big favor and watch the power increase like being kicked by a horse. Swap out your hose by using a 1/2 hose with 3/8 to 1/4 adapters on both ends and high flow couplers. I notice a super increase of kick and power on the gun that I think most are looking for and are use too when using the old system of double hammer's over the system found in the NitroCat 1250k. Yes a new 50ft by 1/2 inch Hose and high flow couplers should be a part of your purchase. ... show more
