    • Hinges failing?

The fencing individuals that installed my friends gate used some cheap hinges that definitely were not going to carry the weight of a 6ft wood gate. Many people want to go with some guy who says he builds fences because he is cheap but I have repaired so many fences and gates because people don't want to pay the price of getting a professional fencing contractor. Even some fencing contractors cut corners to save money. I asked my friend if he wanted me to replace the hinges and install a post because it was failing too. He instead went with this helper wheel. The wheel is helping so the gate will not sag, but in my friends case he just needs to replace the hinges and post. This helper wheel is durable and I do recommend if you need either to help a gate move more smoothly or help a sagging gate. ... show more

This Nisorpa 8inch Fence Gate Wheel is HEAVY DUTY MANUFACTURED. When I received the package I could have sworn there were 3-4 bricks included, that is how beefy and well made this gate wheel is made. Inside the package was all the hardware one could possibly need to install this fence wheel. I did have to add some 2"X4" 's to the backside of my gate due to how the gate was assembled, which allowed a firmer and stronger attachment of the gate wheel to the wooden gate. Be prepared to spend some time prepping the area where you will install this gate wheel, as you may have to reinforce the gate area where you attach this gate wheel. All the screws, brackets, and attachment materials are of first class heavy duty material, just like the gate wheel and assembly. As soon as I chop and remove the embedded root that is currently in way way of easily opening and rolling the gate open, then I will experience the ease of operation of this heavy gate due to the addition of this gate wheel. ... show more

    • Very heavy duty but wheel issue

This wheel is very heavy duty. I like that they include the bolts, nuts and tools for two different ways to mount it. I mounted mine on a 4x4 post on a gate that's on a dirt road. I thought the wheel was big enough to roll through the dirt easily. It does, but when you change direction the wheel doesn't turn around very well. I was in a bit of a rush when I installed it, so I am going to go back later and see if I perhaps didn't get it level enough or something. Still it seems like the wheel should reorient automatically when you swing the gate in the other direction. ... show more

Thought it might be about time to add a wheel to my twenty-foot gate, take some of the load off the hinges and the old mighty mule. I did not expect the wheel to be half as robust as it is, If you were to imagine training wheels for a post-apocalyptic ATV.. that's about what comes in the box.. It's got to be cast or wrought iron with its weight, No doubt whatsoever about the 600lb limit on it. The tire appears to be solid rubber, off-road, climb out of H... I'll be honest if you have anything less than a twelve-foot gate something or under sixty pounds, this is entirely too much gate wheel for you. I purchased this 8" gate wheel for an upcoming fence and gate project. I was looking for something super sturdy that could handle some serious use. I am extremely impressed with the quality of this gate wheel. The wheel has treads, a serious shock/spring, and appears to be welded very well. This is basically a kit because they've very nicely included gloves, and hardware choices for different methods of hanging. I can't comment yet on the usage of the wheel because the project is in its beginning stages as of yet. But I wanted to include photos and detail the quality craftsmanship that went into this. I will hopefully be able to update as the project moves forward, but for now, this is a great quality gate wheel set that I'm already impressed with. ... show more

I have this on the end of a 24ft gate and it does a great job supporting the load. This wheel also makes it so much easier to open the gate. It was a quick and easy install.     • Easy way to fix a sagging gate

Over the years my driveway gate was starting to sag so much that it was catching in the dirt when it was fully open. This would cause my gate closer to struggle and putting unnecessary wear on its internals. This gate wheel was the perfect solution for this. It helped raise the gate back to its original level. It took a lot of the stress the weight of the gate was putting on the mounting brackets. Finally it takes a lot of the load off the gate closer when it hits the grass fully opened. The installation was very simple and the kit comes with all the hardware you need. Once you determine the perfect ride height of your gate, you secure the bolts and lock in that position. The bolts hold extremely well and i tested it by standing on the railing of the gate. The wheel has a spring that gives it some vertical play as it glides across your driveway. The only thing that i can say negative is that the wheel is not wide enough for it to move across grassy areas that does not have packed solid soil. Otherwise this is a great way to fix a sagging fence. ... show more
