  • Absorb Shock: The extension of the spring is up to 1.73 inch, which helps it supports the gate nicely and balances the loading of the gate well In the meantime, it is able to let the wheels move steadily on uneven ground. Please mind that it could not be used on some deep pits or extremely uneven ground.
  • NOTE: To prevent the gate from suspension when the gate casters meet a concave ground, it would be necessary to press the spring of the gate wheels in advance while installation. So that the gate wheels would be able to support the gate while moving to a concave floor.

I paid about $24 here on Amazong for this wheel which would have cost me $40 at the hardware store. Our gate was poorly installed by the fencer, being too heavy for the post it was attached to. The gate dragged and we couldn’t easily reset the post, but this wheel gets the job done well. I followed a YouTube video by skycamproductions who had handy tips like using a vice to clamp the spring. We shimmed the gate up as much as we could and put the wheel on. It no longer drags the ground and the wheel tools smoothly over the concrete. I recommend this wheel and would buy it again. ... show more

Maybe if I had other tools, these would install easier. But they were kind of a pain. Doing could be stronger for heavy doors. But they work and look good
