    • What a GREAT beam throw!
This is easily the FARTHEST beam throw of any light I have! I took it outside and lit up a small hill that is measured in hundreds of yards away, unbelievable! I have not tried the IR spectrum settings through NVD, yet. Visible light beam throw is astounding!

Seems solid built. Very bright white light, I can see things over 100 yards away even with it not at it's brightest setting or max zoom focus. As some others have said, the tab for changing the light from white to IR is kind of large, but manageable. I've thought about using a Dremel with a cut off wheel to shorten it, but haven't yet. The focus brings the light down to the typical LED square at max zoom. Some people complain about that, doesn't bother me. I want the light, don't care if it's square or round. The focus ring used to adjust the light is pretty stiff. Hold the body of the light tightly, and don't hold the end battery cap or it will unscrew as you try to turn the focus ring. I haven't used the IR's much yet, but they come on when switched to them and they are rated at 5wt when most are 3. Worked fine with my NV binocks. Though I haven't had much chance to use them for anything but a quick look around the woods at night. Well built and solid materials. If your looking for a brighter flashlight and brighter IR, this might be a good choice for you. The price is a little steep, but that is how it is with all NV stuff. ... show more

    • It’s ok. Soso with pvs30
This is what I expected. On full focus you get that China square box of LED illumination. On vis its pretty bright. Didn’t get to range check it but at least 70y of good illum. The 2 IR modes work as advertised. 850 is pretty intense on full focus at 50y. 940 is more than adequate but it definitely lights up the woods looks through nods. With a pvs30 get maybe 200-250y of throw. On flood they’re both the same up close in a room. Complaint is that it’s too big compared to a sf/modlite head and damn near unwieldy. The mode switch lever is way too easy to knock over from IR to white. It does work well for a camping hand light if you camp with nods. ... show more

    • RVery good for the money spent
Visible light beam is amazing , as far I could used in one night it reached over 250 m having a bright spot at that distance.850 nm light is very powerful also,I was able to identify the light beam at 220 m.940 nm is not as powerful as 850 nm but still usable over 180 m. As a mention all these distances were measured with a telemetre and the place used to make these observations was city Ploiesti,Romania with a lot of light polution.I assume that in a complete dark place the distances will be much bigger. As a negative point I noticed when I touch the lever to change LED type,the place were the beam spot goes is moving slightly. In the matter of capability to bear a gun recoil I have no ideea since in my country it is forbidden to used night vision devices as a night scope for hunting purposes. I used for night observation along side with a Pulsar FN455 and comparing with its native IR source this one is much more powerful. ... show more

This product answered what i was looking for. A bright spot light, 850 ir, and 940 ir combo package all in one device. The dimmer works like i wanted. Perfect for me. Exceeded expectations.
