There are a couple of steps that require the most delicate of touches or you'll be starting all over again, other than that the build is decent and the model itself looks pretty alright. Maybe a bit overpriced.

The end result of this building block set is pretty cool looking bamboo. Should be a good gift for an adult or an older kid with patience, do not attempt to give it to a younger kid. There's a lot of small parts and takes some time and work to assemble. There are a few pieces with very similar color (browns and greens), so the easiest approach is to separate by color before starting putting it all together. I bought this to do for someone for Christmas and the picture instructions were MOSTLY straightforward. As far as sturdy-wise, it's not necessarily the greatest quality for staying together in some spots, particularly the leaves when you add those at the end. What I did to make sure that it wasn't going to be received by the gift-ee in shambles was that I super glued all of the pieces together after I made sure I assembled them right in chunks. Even then I had to superglue some of the leaves a second time, but overall it turned out REALLY nice and as long as it's not going to be carried around by a kiddo or tousled around, it's a really nice gift/block plant! ... show more

I build these kits with my daughter from time to time. In the past, we'd go to that famous named brand block toy's local store, and we get these huge kits, but they end up taking too much time and space to build. Afterwards we end up disabling the kit because there's no space to store a huge castle for example. The little kits like this one are perfect though. They don't take too long to build and can fit into a glass shelving case we have to store things like this. ... show more

I never really got into flat puzzles, but I’m really into 3-D puzzles and this is a nice one. it’s a fun, and challenging build. It took several hours to put together, and I do recommend going over the instructions several times before starting. Make sure that you have all your parts out and in the order in which you were going to put this together. This does look like a really nice willowy bamboo plant and I do like how the stand is in a blue color, but works well with the dark green of the bamboo. I don’t have a green thumb, so this is the next best thing to a real plant for me ... show more

Like many of these off brand block kits, this is not compatible with the standard blocks. However, the instructions are super high quality, and they correlate to specific bags of parts, which is a better experience than I've had with other random branded kits. The parts seem to be of decent quality, no problem assembling parts or getting them back apart. The reason for the two stars removed is that there is a part missing and a bunch of random extra parts. The missing part isn't critical and is on the bottom of the "pot" otherwise I'd be really frustrated. I wouldn't normally comment on extra parts, but there are about a dozen extra of the same part, a small 1x1 with a smooth top. With this many extra of the same part, it does not give me confidence that I haven't missed something, but I've been over the instructions half a dozen times and it doesn't mention using nearly that many as part of the base. ... show more
