I had thought about buying a used instrument but couldn't pass up this one, new at this price. I played many years ago and wanted a flute just to play for myself. It's not the quality I would have wanted if I were playing in an orchestra again, but for my personal use it is fine. It would be an excellent starter flute or student/school band instrument. It definitely has a good tone. A good choice for a beginner and a fair price. Delivered super fast and I appreciate that. My daughter has been playing for 3 years now on the flute I had. We needed a backup since we both play and this one will do nicely. Some of the pads were a little yellow but the more she has played it the better it sounds. Probably just needs to loosen up a bit.
