I received this NewAir beverage fridge on 01/22/23 and was very impressed with its construction and features (digital thermostat, capacity, etc). I initially placed this in my living room roughly 6 feet from my couch. As many others have mentioned, I quickly noticed the odd "warbling" and/or pigeon sounds this unit would make. It was extremely noticeable and hard to ignore. Additionally, I noticed that it wasn't maintaining a constant temperature, despite my following all of the instructions for first use. For context, I also have a 2 tap kegerator in my living room that is roughly the same size and it barely makes a peep. After messing with the feet and trying to level it properly, I grew frustrated and figured that I would just have to live with the annoying sound that would occur almost every 20 minutes or so. The other day, however, it dawned on me that my placement of the unit wasn't ideal. I had placed it in front of a window and next to my balcony door, which I tend to keep open when it's nice out. The constant sunlight and outdoor temps were probably messing with this unit, I hypothesized. By simply moving the unit from the window and into a corner of the room, almost immediately the noises stopped! The fridge also started keeping a constant temperature, much to my delight. Additionally, I purchased a small stand to place the unit onto, since it helps airflow and raises the unit a few inches off the ground (easier for stocking). I'm convinced that moving it away from a constant source of sunlight/outdoor air made all the difference. The stand has most likely also helped, since now it is super quiet and runs perfectly. To anyone having these issues - be sure to check where you have it located and consider putting it on a stand (which makes it easier to level, as well). I bought this sight and sound unseen, and it more than met my expectations on both counts. Very attractive, and extremely quiet. The temperature gauge is digital, easy to read, and the up and down controls are also easy to use. The direction manual that comes with the unit is not the greatest. It doesn't explain the various accessories that come with the unit, or really explain much of anything. Two keys are provided, as well as what you need to switch the door to open to the other side. Very nice! The storage space is amazing. I have large and small bottles of wine and champagne, and bottles and cans of all sorts of soft drinks and waters. It holds a ton! Watch for sales of this unit. I caught a price hundreds of dollars less than the retail price in May '22. I don't know why it was reduced and feel very lucky because it's really worth the full price. When I went on Amazon to write a review, I noticed the price was more than $300 more than I just paid for it. The only warning on this unit. It is several inches shorter than the u-line and subzero undercounter units I used to have in this space. As you can see from the second photo, I had to put a piece of its styrofoam packing material underneath the fridge until I can have a base made so there's not a big gap between the top and the counter. Given that the interior space is still very capacious, I'm not bothered by the fact that the unit is shorter, but I'd advise you to double-check your space and be prepared for this if you're replacing another undercounter fridge. ... show more

I bought this for my dry bar. It’s under a counter top. I have read several reviews about how loud this unit was. I did not plug the fridge in for about two weeks after I got it because I was still finishing the bar. The manufacturer recommends you wait a day to plug it in. Honestly when I finally plug it in I couldn’t hear it running. I thought it was broken it was so quiet. The only way I new it was running was because the back panel inside the fridge started getting cold. I left it on the coldest setting (7) and my water bottles all froze. So it definitely gets cold. I have it running for about two weeks now and I am very happy with it. Would recommend it. ... show more

I cannot recommend these units. My unit died in less than 2 years of use. The unit stopped cooling and when I contacted newair they offered to send out a new temperature sensor. This did not fix the issue and another call to newair informed the unit had a cooling system issue. I had the unit diagnosed at a local appliance repair who identified that the compressor was not longer working. New air doesn't offer parts to fix any cooling system issue so the unit is garbage at this point. New air offered me 40% another unit that would end up costing me more than I paid for the unit initially in 2022. Very disappointed and cannot recommend these units. ... show more

We’ve had this refrigerator for about a month, and here are my thoughts about it: It holds a lot of drinks! - We keep bottled water, beer, wine, sodas, juices, and iced coffees in the unit and everything fits great Small footprint - The refrigerator stays in the corner of our dining room and takes up little space Chills drinks ice cold - The unit has settings from 1-7. I honestly don’t know why settings 1-3 exist unless you want your drinks 60 degrees. Setting 6 gets our drinks down to 39 degrees and 7 starts to freeze them. You wouldn’t get the same performance if you kept this little guy outside or in the garage, but it works perfectly in a climate controlled space Makes some (acceptable) noise - This really shouldn’t surprise folks, but a refrigerator needs to run a compressor to operate. It runs a lot, but I wouldn’t say it’s louder than your main fridge. Doesn’t bother me at all. Looks nice and seems to be well made - This is a good looking unit and still looks new after a month. Has nice seals, adjustable feet (in the front), adjustable shelves and a good looking glass door. The LED light gives an option to light your fridge up, but it’s an on/off switch, not door activated.
