Diabetics and keto diets BEWARE, this is an awesome concept... but its not executed properly for those who need sugar free. I had only a small amount of these, my sugar was at 103. After an hour my sugar skyrocketed to 148. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT DIABETIC OR KETO FRIENDLY. It has IMO (isomaltooligosaccharide) in it, which is not a safe ingredient if your watching your sugar intake. Research shows that IMO is just as equivalent and has the same effect as taking 28g of sugar. Companies often try to disguise IMO as Tapioca fiber or Tapioca starch. If you have the time, search on youtube for keto reviews with smartsweets. It’s kicked multiple people out of ketosis. You’ll be surprised at what you find. Loved these when they were made with tummy-friendly Stevia. I ordered two boxes recently not realising that SmartSweets had changed their sweetener to allulose. I had the cramps, wind, bloating, and diarrhea I get with sugar alcohols, even though allulose is supposed to be “different.” Major bummer.

    • Smart Sweets Losing It

I did not like the texture of these at all. I feel like their reformulations are not for the better, higher in calories/carbs, texture weird, and flavor off. These were the worst so far for me. Plus no refunds? Lame.

I wish I'd read the other reviews before purchasing this Sourmelon Bites. Basically I farted the whole night after eating only half a bag and had diarrhea the next morning. TMI but you should know. They've changed the formula and added allulose and maybe that's what's causing the issue. I contacted Smart Sweets and I suggest everyone who had a similar reaction do the same.     • Too Sour

First off, if you've never tried SmartSweets before don't go into this with expectations that it'll taste like regular candy cause it doesn't. The texture is really chewy and sticks to teeth easily. I've had the peach rings so I knew what the texture would be like but I did not expect them to be so sour. It's not like the sour patch watermelon that go sweet after the coating dissolves, these stayed very sour throughout chewing to the point that it was making my jaw sore. SmartSweets also don't have the coating that a lot of candy has and that, for me makes the texture not quite as enjoyable. I'm not currently keto, though I have tried it before so I know what it's like being on that diet, and I don't know how these could be considered not keto friendly (like another reviewer said); per SmartSweets website there's only 18 grams of net carbs so that'll just depend on what else you're eating and your total net carbs for the day. I do like that there's only 3 grams of sugar and no sugar alcohol as well as no artificial food coloring as I'm allergic to red dye. I'll stick with the sweet snacks from SmartSweets and stay away from the sour since I cannot handle this level of sour but if you like really sour candy and want to cut back on sugar it's worth a try. ... show more

    • VERY STRONG NAIL POLISH REMOVER FLAVOR

They taste like the smell of nail polish remover. Once you get past that taste (I think it’s maybe the coating that tastes like that), the watermelon flavor is good and the texture is great (just like the other smart sweets). I don’t know if I can get past the extremely strong acetone flavor though. They also have way less fiber, and therefore the net carbs are way higher (more than double) which is unfortunate because they went from being super low carb to almost 20 net carbs, plus they’re higher in total calories because of that. ... show more

I had originally chosen SmartSweets because they made keto-friendly candies that could help with my gummy candy cravings.... unfortunately the new formulation isn’t as Keto friendly unless you exercise some SERIOUS portion control. The carbs are just too high and the fiber content is no longer as high. Furthermore the new texture of these isn’t what you expect if you enjoyed their original Fruity Bears. These are SO tasty - i really love smart sweets. They taste pretty similar to the original candy minus the super sugary flavor. The only thing that is offputting is that these are extra sticky when you eat them but that isn't a deterrent for me because no one else makes sugar free candy like smart sweets does. 11/10 recommend! ... show more
