  • The carburetor works well.
I bought this carb to fit my truck, and it took me no more than 10 minutes to install, and go on a2 hour trip. Carb worked well, great on gas, auto chock works made my engine idle smooth . The price is cheaper than a rebuilding my old carb.

  • Casting flaw that causes a huge vacuum leak. Will not run right.
Casting flaw in base plate. Did not see until we spent months trying everything to get it to run right. Took carb off and noticed a casting flaw. This flaw has the media blast marks so this was done prior to finish/milling of the unit. Secondary air flap spring was broken needed to disassemble and reinstall spring. Quality control is lacking. Sent numerous messages through Amazon to get resolved and no response. Just want a new one or refund. ... show more

  • Inexpensive replacement for your worn out Quadrajet
Item looks great and bolted right on to my truck. I did have to adjust the idle screws and the power valve a little. The biggest problem was i had to back out the electric choke a full 1/4 turn to get it to kick off. That is way past the marks and pointer on the adjustment area. You can't beat the price! ... show more

  • Easy install.
Installed easily, truck fired right up with only a slight idle adjustment. My truck runs great. I would purchase again.

  • Quadrajet carburetor
1975 Chevrolet 350 pickup. First off, I've been building carbs for 55 years. All Quadrajet carbs are pot metal castings, this is the FIRST aluminum casting I've seen. Very good quality made in China. I had to take the top off to see inside and I had to put my touch on the carb. There was an issue with the choke linkage fast idle cam portion, I had to replace with a used part that I had on hand. I also had to increase the jetting, the carb was to lean. Beside having to tweak the carb, the casting is well built. I would recommend to a gearhead. ... show more

  • New casting may require some extra prep
Not installed yet but I disassembled to see differences from a real quadrajet. There’s some good and bad. Machining tolerances and assembly could cause some issues. I will be comparing with a 1985/6 factory Quadrajet with the dual capacity accelerator pump I own which looks like this new casting is based on. The Good: Lighter than factory. Outside assembled well, linkages correct and no stripped or loose screws. It has the correct geometry throttle bell crank if connecting to TV cable for OD trans. Proper electric choke body, although there is machined hole it is not connected to vacuum circuit. It was clean! LoL I’m sick of cleaning used quadrajets. Large windowed needle seat. Bad: Upon disassembly I was welcomed with a torn gasket in middle near the secondary rods. The torn gasket material was laying in the fuel bowl was about 1cm and could definitely cause a clog. New gasket 1250 air horn gasket, 1350 body, better flange gaskets with nylon bolt holes are available. Comparing the 1985/6 carb airhorn to the new I noticed there was no machined passage for the front vent. This would connect to charcoal canister if equipped. The airhorn has a false aneroid cavity where the solenoid would be on the 1985/6 carb. The gasket and washer just barely enough to cover. If say the gasket warps or cracks dirt can get into fuel system as there is also not an aneroid cavity insert under in the carb body. Machine the acorn cover would have been better since the 1985/6 solenoid won't fit due to the bottom of cavity in the body not having the base or plunger. Gasket failure in the fuel filter inlet. The gasket felt more pliable than others I have seen. The fuel filter housing has more of chamfer ridge where the filter sits than 1985/6 factory. The fuel filter inlet also had a strong solvent smell and coating Secondary lock out lever would not engage fully without filing down material. It could potentially bind the secondaries between startups. Secondary lockout lever prevents the secondary throttle blade from opening until engine is warmed up and choke is open. The 1985/6 factory lever would engage but due to design difference in the secondary lockout pin there was enough slack to move secondary’s while choke closed. Power piston retained with a metal ring instead of nylon bushing. Hard to remove, rebuild kits will have a nylon bushing. The power piston was also missing primary metering rods retaining spring. Tiny Spring/hanger for fuel needle was missing. It is a windowed large orifice needle seat my guess between .130-135 Blocked idle bypass air in body. Not plugged will need to drill out. The Q-Jet uses an idle air bleed system that allows idle air to be pulled into the intake just below the throttle blades. By allowing a controlled amount of air to bypass the throttle blades, the throttle blade opening can be decreased, allowing effective use of the transition slots in the throttle plate. Plugging the holes for the idle air bleed results in the idle speed screw needing to be cranked up to the point that the transition slots are excessively exposed, causing off-idle stumble and hesitation. Gasket on electric choke coil. This will block the grounding circuit. Questionable: 2.67" long accelerator pump. The 1985/6 carb had shorter style 2.57" long. It is a shorter style assembly that is great for performance applications. This provides a quicker fuel shot for better acceleration. Fuel filter was non-check valve type. Combined with the windowed needle seat fuel may drain back into line/pump and car may be harder to start with less fuel in bowl. Will have good fuel flow for race applications. Missing aneroid cavity insert. Again questionable some carbs come without from factory. Will increase fuel bowl volume which good, but can introduce slosh turning hard braking and cornering. Couldn't find calipers to measeure rods. Secondary's are richer than CH rods, Hanger higher than J, i don't have primary rods to compare. ... show more

  • Crap/garbage
Save your money. By the time I was able to install this, it was past the return and I’m stuck with an expensive paperweight. The fuel return port blew out and poured fuel everywhere. I’m am lucky it didn’t start before that or my car could have been a total loss.
