    • Denso will outlast any aftermarket compressor
Even though the Amazon filters in searches aren’t always correct, the Denso AC compressor is the factory issued part from Toyota that were installed on all 3.4L engines during 1999-2004, this item is the direct replacement for mine that the clutch went out in at the end of last year. Received it mid week last week, had it installed yesterday, I would have installed but had to work all weekend, and a buddy of mine that works at BMW dealership, came and got it and brought it back to me and send me a picture of a thermometer in the vent showing it was putting out 49 degree. Hard to top that for a 2002 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner with 700,000 original miles on it. I have Always tried to put the Denso parts back on this truck when possible and it has definitely paid off. The item came in the factory Denso box with the original tape on it when it was sealed from the factory. This item is close to 300 at any chain part store, the mark up on parts are usually 40%, so who you get it from is getting 40 % just for selling it to you. I needed a new compressor because mine was leaking from the front seal. It seems even the Toyota parts counter knows about these, because that's where they pointed me to because Toyota sells this part in two pieces. (1) being the clutch (1) being the compressor sans clutch. The compressor can only be had as a reman and for three times the cost of this new Denso one. ... show more

I was leery about purchasing such an application-specific part from Amazon, so I also picked one up at a local wholesale distributor. I shouldn't have worried - they were identical Denso compressors, right down to the box, the instructions, the spare o-rings, and the oil in the compressor. The only difference was the price... Amazon had them beat. The locally-purchased compressor went back to the store, and Amazon gained my business in yet another market segment. This compressor is complete with clutch, pulley, and oil, but note that it has a block-off plate over the area that the hose manifold bolts to. You will have to remove the hose manifold from your old compressor and place it on the new one (new o-rings are included in case you damage the installed o-rings). Amazon also sells the drier and TXV, although my local store had the same parts for nearly 1/2 of Amazon's price. It pays to shop around. ... show more

This is the OEM part for the 1995 Tacoma SR5. It fits perfectly and works great. My original compressor started to failed after 240,000 miles.
