  • Keeps you engaged wanting to learn more
This book doesn't disappoint. The author provides a very informative experience while working on an interesting real world useful project, a password manager based off of ĶeePass. Not the same old boring projects that other books continue to use.

  • Fantastic
Very well organized. Beginning with the app lifecycle and then into a hand on project to work off of. Very pleased with this book considering how greenfield . NET MAUI still is. Thanks for the knowledge.

  • Great introduction to Maui
Having spent a decade with Xamarin and now a few months with Maui I would recommend this book as a great introduction to Maui. What I liked: The book does a great job of exploring the Maui architecture, routing, UI basics and service creation, MVVM architecture and Dependency Injection. All the fundamentals that are needed to create an enterprise grade (minus backend stuff) cross platform application are present for getting started with Maui. What I disliked: Why I gave it four stars is that it spends multiple chapters on Blazor which in my experience only accounts for a small fraction of the UIs in the ecosystem. Less Blazor and more information on xaml triggers, behaviors, templates and extending controls would have benefited the reader. ... show more

  • This books offers an experienced perspective on a relatively new tech
We have started MAUI migrations of a number of Xamarin Native applications. What made this book a valuable read was the experienced perspective on both rudimentary core elements as well as more advanced and complex subjects. Sample code for the walkthroughs were very helpful to keep the learning on track and demo the subject matter without getting bogged down. I feel many other resources on MAUI follow a lot of the "flashy" code generation and other "wow factor" MS marketing to help sell MAUI, while in these texts you just get solid, learned code examples and methods that explain more than other tutorials out there. As an analogy, this book is not selling the sizzle, it gives you a juicy steak to really sink your teeth into. There are a lot of decisions to make when building/migrating complex apps, and I extracted some good ideas along with examples from these texts. Finding a resource presented as this is, with the context of a demo app was quite helpful and fun to use. ... show more
