  • Quick and Cost effective way to make expresso with no compromise
Color: Titan Style: Nespresso by Breville
Three things I like about this and this may help your decision making, 1. Compact 2. Quick 3. Flavorful (Either Nespresso pods or Peets Pods) To get more out of the pods use this way! There are 2 settings. 1. Dispensing a shot and 2. dispensing 3 times the volume of a shot. I use Option 1 First and Option 2. immediately after 1. is completed. You get the worth of each pod. Enjoy! This will never disappoint you. Far easier to make a coffee or expresso than any other machine out there. Easy to clean too. I press the ... show more

  • I thought this new design would be a nice upgrade...
Color: Titan Style: Nespresso by Breville
The media could not be loaded. Disappointed. We have an older Nespresso U machine that has worked perfectly for 3 years. 3 years of multiple uses per day (at least 2-3x/day between adults in the house). About 2 months ago, part of the mechanism inside where the capsules are punctured broke. I was fortunate to find a replacement part on Amazon and we were up and running again. This part has a weakness, and we figured the replacement would probably break too, eventually. Well, fast forward to today and it finally happened. Our machine seems to have breathed it's last breath. Back to Amazon for a new Nespresso machine. I settled on the Pixie as it seemed to be a mix of cool stylish design and the use we expect from Nespresso machines. It also fits the footprint of our departing machine. The Citiz is taller and doesn't seem a good fit for the space we have. Free same day delivery was available, so I figured it would be a good thing all around. Delivery was great. I have no idea how Amazon does it, but getting same day delivery is often my motivation for a purchase. Generally, if I can get the same price locally and have it in my hands that day with a trip to a local store, I'm doing that. I'll even pay a little more to get something locally. I was busy with work though, and prices locally were a good amount more, so opted for Amazon. So, on to my disappointment. This machine does not work nearly as well as our Nespresso U did. The Pixie leaks. Quite a bit. Much more than the U. The attached drip tray also has a lip/protruding part underneath (hopefully you can see it in the pics) that supports the tray when you are using an espresso cup. This would be fine, except that the extra width (about half an inch) of that part keeps larger cups/mugs from being totally flush against the machine when you put the tray up to use bigger/taller cups (for lungo pour). The spout on ours seems to aim the liquid back toward the machine - that and the support for the drip tray mean that I actually have to hold my mug and tip it toward the machine in order for the pour to go into my mug and not just splash off the edge and go down the back. A design flaw that should be mentioned. I read as many reviews as I could. I didn't see this mentioned. We don't have fancy mugs either. Just regular 12-14oz mugs. Some are taller/bigger, but height of the spout is not an issue. The U has a magnetic drip tray that can be removed and leaves the front of the machine completely open. Hopefully, I can get some pictures posted so you can see what I mean. I noticed the Inissia and Citiz appear to have a similar design with the drip tray, and it follows that they may have the same issue. If you use the glasses that Nespresso sells, they are tapered and smaller at the bottom, so aren't affected by this. Pics included to compare regular mug placement with Pixie (flip up tray) vs. older U style (removable tray). I'm between a 2 and a 3 in the star department. It's ok... This is likely going back. ... show more

  • Great Espresso Machine, Limited Selection of Coffee
Color: Titan Style: Nespresso by Breville
The Breville version of the Nespresso Pixie is a nice machine. We used it while staying with friends and had to have one. It makes very good coffee and has a number of nice features, some user variable, such as water pour amount from each button. It is very easy to keep clean, and we like that Nespresso provides a free-return UPS bag for recycling their used pods. Pros: Good espresso, lots of features, very easy and fast operation. Easy cleanup. Cons: Quite noisy, if anyone in the house is still sleeping. Limited selection of pods from makers other than Nespresso. Starbucks is ok, haven't tried the couple of others. Not all makers agree consistently on "intensity" ratings of various blends. Pods are relatively expensive - $.70 to $.75 per pod. Nespresso varieties and ease of ordering are very good. Order a variety pack and reorder what you like. Free shipping over a small purchase amount. Surprise: Some Nespresso decaf varieties are really very good, if you like a cup in the middle of the day or afternoon. ... show more

  • The best convenience espresso machine on the market
Color: Titan Style: Nespresso by Breville with Aeroccino
Makes a good espresso shot quickly without the time, fuss, clean-up and initial bigger expense of a higher end traditional espresso machine. Research shows this is the best convenience pod system espresso machine on the market that makes a proper espresso. I’m not the kind of consumer who jumps on the latest trend, but I wanted a better caffeine experience to linger over without having to leave my house each time. Once I made up my mind to go with Nespresso, I was torn whether to go with their VertuoLine or OriginaLine. Ultimately I settled on the OriginaLine because it’s not replacing my regular drip coffee maker since we’re still able to make a good strong pot of coffee using fresh beans. So the Nespresso is intended as more of a supplemental caffeine experience for us and when we have guests over. I chose the Pixie Titanium purely on looks and because it's mostly metal. I got the bundle because Amazon priced it so well I couldn’t pass it up! I didn’t expect to use the Aeroccino much except for the rare cappuccino or for guests, but we actually use it a lot. Instead of milk we use unsweetened almond milk and it froths up beautifully and makes a rich cappuccino or latte. The long and short of it is it makes a quality shot of espresso almost instantly, doesn’t take up a lot of counter space, gives you the option of a long shot or regular, made solidly, has a classic Art Deco appeal, and the brand offers excellent customer service. Nespresso recycles the Aluminium pods and composts the old coffee inside, and for free they will send you a prepaid UPS bag that you put the used pods in and take to a UPS drop off, so they’re not harming the environment. I highly suggest registering your Pixie with Nespresso and ordering the pods through them, their prices run 70 - 75 cents a pod depending on the kind you get and they offer free gifts like glassware, etc. ... show more
