Imagine yourself as the Master Chief and go into battle against the alien alliance! Challenge opponents with this motorized, clip-fed blaster that unleashes 10 darts in a row. It comes with a removable, 10-dart clip and 10 Official Nerf darts, enough to fully load the clip. The Nerf Halo MA40 blaster includes a game card with a code to unlock a digital asset in the Halo game. To start playing, hold down the acceleration button to power up the blaster's motor, then press the trigger to fire 1 dart. Press the trigger again to fire another dart. It comes with a rail riser that attaches to the blaster's tactical rail, so you can customize the blaster with Nerf accessories (not included). Eyewear recommended (not included).

I bought this mainly because I'm kind of a die-hard HALO fan. As far as Nerf blasters are concerned, this is a pretty standard battery operated blaster. The bull-pup design isn't the most efficient for a flywheel blaster, but you can't really do anything about the magazine being in the back. 4xC batteries, 10 dart mag, removable ammo-counter prop. Top rail is compatible with other Nerf rail accessories. If you want a decently firing dart blaster, I suggest you look elsewhere. Lots of other Nerf (and other brand) blasters that will cost less and perform much better. But this performs pretty standard. Not a significant negative except in the cost:performance ratio. BUT, if you're a huge HALO fan, this is a great blaster to own. It's the iconic MA40 the Master Chief uses! I took mine apart and repainted with spray paints, and now it looks like something straight out of the video game! Size is pretty perfect. Shape and molding are very true to the game. Pretty easy to disassemble, just take pictures as you go to make sure you can put them all back together when done. Mag sits a little farther out than the game, but still looks fine.     • Good and fun blaster, but why c batteries?
It is a cool gun, especially for halo fans. The thumbhole does get uncomfortable after a while of shooting and the trigger pull is really heavy, but it is still pretty fun. It also uses c type batteries, so I recommend getting rechargeable c type.

The media could not be loaded. Amazing, I loved painting this thing for cosplay. Suggestion thou, take off the black handle, face rest, and butt of the Gun, cause honestly it looks better when not painted. But overall it’s a great gun shoots well, accurate to the game. It's a great looking blaster. Hits on par with most semi automatic Nerf brand blasters. But so good looking I find I don't play with it for fear of making the blaster look beat up. But if that doesn't matter then this great for kids to be thier favorite alien fighter.

    • I bought this as a gift and he has enjoyed it but....
This was a gift for a near teen young man. He loves Halo and this seemed like the perfect gift. The good: It looks enough like the gun from the Halo video game that was instantly enthralled. The Bad: -- The magazine is small. It only holds 10 total darts. He has had to re-load and re-load and that was pretty solid buzz kill. This alone was not enough for my 3-star review. -- He has a bucket full of NERF darts. These are just a bit different. They are longer and slightly a different shape. This fun shoots flawlessly with the darts it came with but not with any of his others. Within minutes one was lost somewhere around him. Fairly quickly, within a week or two, most if not all were lost.... -- It takes very large batteries. I expect this is because they wanted lots and lots of power to last a long time. 10 shots at a time what is the point? So I 3d printed some spacers that make double batteries the right diameter and he has used those. The first set have not died at this point. -- The magazine has to be loaded 1 dart at a time in a very manual very slow process. He has other NERF guns that have larger magazines. But with where this one is located, right at the very back, they get in the way of trying to use the gun at all. Conclusion: What this has turned into? He plays a lot of make believe with it. Lots of pretend play but no one has seen him try to shoot a dart out of it in a very very long time. He will sometimes spin up the fan/motor for some added sound to the make believe game but that is it. All in all I would have gone for something a little more forgiving of the difference in darts and something much much easier to load. But I am glad that he likes the look and has found a way to enjoy it. ... show more

Bought this for a friend who loves halo and he absolutely loved it. Freaked out and has a lot of fun with it. Was way bigger than I thought. Bought it slightly used but was in great condition. All the darts were there and looked almost brand new
