After using this to blind any living thing in range, you might not be able to see much yourself until your eyes get use to the dark again. There are brighter lights out there, but I don't think anything brighter than this would be particularly useful for the average person. This light is not for fine detailed work like putting on shoes at a campsite or reading signs at night... this is more useful for illuminating a small field and ensuring nothing unpleasant is lerking in it. Not sure it is worth $100 because of one reason: there is no tight, small-cone setting when you zoom. Major oversight. The tightest beam is still very wide. We have tried several other rechargeable flashlights and quickly realized that they were not bright enough nor did their batteries last long enough. I bought two of these Nebo Davinci 5000L rechargeable flashlights and last night was a very good test. We were out for two hours at the medium setting and then an additional 30 minutes at full power and the flashlights continued to shine brightly. A friend commented that the light had a great spread of light with full brightness in it's entirety. I highly recommend this particular flashlight as well as the Nebo brand. ... show more
