  • Great fire starters!
I love this type of firestarter more than any other type. This kind of firestarter is excellent for getting my fire pits roaring in no time, and they are humidity resistant. These fire starters are long, and the twist of them is easy to unroll in order to scatter about the tinder and kindling, and I use the inner core to light the center of the fire. These starters get my fires lit and thoroughly caught in most conditions here in my humid climate. These starters have no unpleasant odor while burning, unlike some off-brands that I've tried. These burn off quickly and do not affect the taste of the foods that I cook on my fires. I am quite satisfied with these starters, and these are my favorites so far! • Excellent Fire Starter - Naturehike 72 pcs Fire Starter, Odorless Natural Pine Fire Starters
The "Naturehike 72 pcs Fire Starter, Odorless Natural Pine Fire Starters" are excellent fire starters. I have used other leading brands of fire starters that are almost identical to these. However the Naturehike brand of fire starters are bigger and way more cost effective. You get almost 75% more with the Naturehike brand than I was paying for "other" brands. The Naturehike brand is also a little bigger than the leading brands as well. The box that the fire starters come in is packed full of this little wax covered saved pine logs for fire starting. I mostly use these for camping and I prefer using flint and steel for lighting my campfires. I was not sure if these would work well, but with zero prep, no fluffing it up or pulling anything apart, I was able to get it ignited with only about 4 or 5 strikes. It caught and started burning really well. Very easy to get a fire started with these. I am very happy with these fire starters so far. Great deal at this price and work great. ... show more

  • Very useful to have
These fire starter cylinders light up fast, they stay lit for a while, and they certainly speed up the process when I grill and light up the fire pit. Out of the box, they have an oily aroma and are waxy on the hands - but when they burn, I don't notice any smell. I just throw one under my BBQ chimney starter or at the bottom of my fire pit and that's it. No complaints - all claims are accurate. ... show more

  • These things are great! Very well worth it.
I usually only have to use 2 of these to light good bonfire wood. I say "good" because ewe probably all know bad wood is just bad and nothing helps it. These starters are very easy to light and while I haven't timed them, they burn long enough to get good wood going perfectly well. I keep a ziploc bag full of these in my BBQ, cooking, and fire toolbox. ... show more

  • 4.5 stars
The bundles break and can be a little messy. Still, they work and the quantity you get is a great value. These make starting a fire so much easier. I recommend using two under a Lincoln log stacked wood pile.

  • Works Fine
Good firestarter. I used this to start some coals on a bbq and this worked as well as any newspaper under my charcoal chimney. Longer burn time and no worries about ashy newsprint flying around. Worked equally fine for a gravity grill, but it took longer to get started since it was lump charcoal, which apparently needs a hotter flame to get going past the used material. Since it didn't burn too hot, just longer, I guess this would be fine for camping/campfires or BOBs (assuming you don't need to start anything wet). It was good enough to keep working in windy conditions, so that's also a plus. Overall these are good. I think I'll keep them for park cookouts or camping and briquet starters. ... show more

  • Easy to light, burns a long time, without toxic smoke
I tested these by lighting coconut shell charcoal cubes. These are easy to light and burned more than long enough to start the charcoal cubes. They did not smoke heavily, much less than newspaper, and burned for much longer. They are lightweight and compact and easy to take along on camping trips. Recommended. ... show more

  • They burn
works great for starting the chimney. The box fell apart though. It'd be cool if it was in a durable enough container that I didn't have to find another box for them.
