I have seen a youthfulness and energy in my senior boy cat that I haven’t seen in years… HE CRACKS OUT ALL THE TIME! He’s friendlier, he eats and drinks more… he’s just happier. And our younger cat will grow up on this so I expect her to be her sassy little self for many years to come with the amount of vitamins and nutrients that this food offers. Oh and I also recommend the wet food pouches. Same quality but the cats think they’re getting something special lol. Oh, and they smell like chicken or beef stew! I haven’t eaten it though so can’t attest to that… yet..? 🤔 I love this Natural Balance pet food! It is a bit pricey but we’ve all accepted that if we, pet owners, want to eat healthy it’s a hell of a lot more expensive to purchase fresh and “organic”, than processed and… fake..? I like that my cats have ate this food, since it’s hard to find 6 cats to agree, three cats have food sensitivities, being a sensitive stomach, which I am still seeing if it’ll help her. The other two I has allergies, they are both sneezing a lot less. Still giving this type and bag a try to see where it goes. ... show more

They free feed and evidently like this product. I like the ingredients. Feeding them well is expensive and I am not one to home cook their meals so this is an easy peasy solution. I make this available to them 24/7 and several times a week provide canned wet food as well. They are females and less likely to have issues that males have but never the less, I think it's likely best to provide them with wet food too. ... show more

Since we adopted Buddy last February we have been trying to find foods that he will and can eat. We wanted him to be on canned food, but he just will not cooperate with that at all. He will go into a starvation mode that I can not allow myself to cause. Anyway, the only canned food he would eat was fish so that's what we gave him. He scratched frequently, but didn't do any harm to himself so we figured that was the best we could do. We tried some dry foods of duck and fish as well because he loves dry food. They either caused him to throw up or scratch like crazy or get yeast in his ears. We tried all the limited ingredient turkey foods we could find both canned and dry and he either wouldn't eat them or they would also cause scratching. The Instinct actually caused him to scratch his face to bleed. What to do?! We saw this one, but I was turned off by the low protein and high carbs. We continued on with the fish but then he started to throw that up. Desperately we tried this one. Within a few days the scratching stopped completely. Within 2 weeks the yeast was gone from his ears as well. I had thought that the yeast was from the carbs from the dry, but it appears it was an allergic reaction from the proteins we were giving him. He has been on this for about 3 weeks now and he loves it! He gets 1/4 cup two times a day and that seems to satisfy him because he leaves even a few morsels in his dish. His coat is incredible and he sheds so little it's amazing. When he was on the canned fish, he shed way more than this! Anyway, he doesn't throw up anymore and he uses his litter box without issues and digests this food the best of any we have tried. This has taught me how individual cats are. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but now it is the only choice for Buddy. Never has he done so well and that makes us all happy. ... show more

Update Sept 2022: We are now several months out from starting this food & still NO diarrhea at all. Every bag I’ve ordered has been fine, no issues. My cat seems to like it, so we will continue to stick with this food. We have also since introduced a few different poultry free treats. My cat has had chronic diarrhea ever since we got him 6 months ago. He is now 9 months old. We tried many different things: fecal tests, special food, bottled water only, no treats, expensive probiotic powder, antibiotics, dewormer etc. I kind of suspected it was the chicken/poultry causing it after giving him plain chicken breast once & him being affected by just that. Well, I am happy to report that kitty has been diarrhea free for 4 whole days now! After that first meal, that was it! This is the longest he’s went! So, it’s either chicken or some ingredient that the previous foods had & this one doesn’t. Who knows, but we’ll definitely stick with this food. The bag of food we received looks fine, smells fine (for cat food), and it’s a huge bag. It’s actually a bit cheaper than the one he was on previously. I haven’t gotten to the bottom yet to see any crumbs (like mentioned in other reviews), but I’ll deal with that if it means no more suffering for my cat. Overall, very impressed. ... show more
