I have two cats - one is about 3 years old and she threw up hairballs at least once every other day on her Hill's chicken diet. She had testing done and nothing abnormal was found so we started feeding her Greenie's hairball treats along with the diet which did make the hairballs go away. My other cat is about 8 years old and he was also throwing up hairballs on a Hill's diet so his vet did some tests, didn't find anything, but decided to put him on Royal Canin Selected Protein. The Selected Protein 100% helped him stop throwing up hairballs but it made his poop smell FOUL. It stunk up the entire apartment, especially since he's a cat that doesn't care to cover up his poop in the litterbox. -_- After years of dealing with smelly poops and having to give hairball treats daily, I decided to look into a diet with a protein that neither cat has had before. I have a degree in veterinary technology and years of experience working in vet med so I knew about what I was looking for. I went with this diet because neither of my cats have had salmon flavored food and let me tell you, they LOVE it. We don't have to give our one cat hairball treats anymore and our other cat no longer has smelly poops! They've been eating the diet for probably 1.5-2 months now and so far, so good! No hairballs! Definitely recommend this food if you and your vet have exhausted all other options and diets! ... show more

We have 5 cats some feral, some indoor cats. None of them would eat this, I threw it out! I use other Natural Balance that our dogs love, but cats are impossible! It sat for weeks and they never touched it🙄

    • Makes my litter box clean up a nasty chore.

The cats seemed to adjust to this new flavor pretty well when their regular flavor was unavailable but the litter box really had a strong oder after they used it. I hope their regular flavor is back in stocks soon.

My 14 year old cat has always had food sensitivities. Everything made him vomit. This is the only dry food he can keep down. I tried varieties other than chicken but he can handle them.

My cat was having issues with other brands especially if they had salmon or other fish. We slowly switched her to this one and she is no longer having any issues. The price is a bit high but well worth it. My cat can't wait til dinner time sometimes :)
