  • Highly recommneded for Traktor Digital DJ setup
style: DJ Controller
Won't really get into the details of how to use the Traktor Kontrol X1 because if you are seeking this product out, you should already be aware of its functionality and all that. I will say that if you are looking for a means to NOT have to touch or use your laptop/PC with your Digital DJ setup and you are currently using Traktor, this is the perfect solution. Solid design and feel, does not feel cheap. Debatable as far as functionality is concerned if you already down the MK1 version of this. Plug and play functionality (will require NI Traktor 2.6+) and customizable via Traktor and Control Editor. This DOES include a $50 voucher which will be delivered to your email once you have registered the device with Native Instruments. ... show more

  • this is one of the best transport controllers that I have ever used
style: DJ Controller
No matter what your DJ needs are there is no way that adding an X1 to the mix will not make life easier. Simply put, this is one of the best transport controllers that I have ever used. A particularly amazing feature is the touchpad which is not featured on any of the more advanced traktor controllers like the Z2 or S4, which allows you to do live scratching very easily. Great for browsing and selecting music as well as useful with remix sets. ... show more

  • Better than the X1
style: DJ Controller
Have been using the Audio 2 and a DJM 700 for quite a while, contemplating picking up the X1. This upgrade made my choice a no brainer and I picked up the X1 Mk2. Other than that this unit needs Traktor Pro 2.6.3 and does not come with bundled Traktor software, no gripes as far as performance goes. Ensure that you have Traktor 2.6.3 installed. Or pick up an Audio 2 for about a 100 bucks to get the software Have been using this with a DJM 700 and the Audio 2 and I must say, I rarely touch the computer now. The bigger and differently coloured cue / play buttons make them easy to differentiate amongst the darkest club environments. Selecting the filters / cue points is made easier with the workflow. Its definitely a breeze. Am considering adding the F1 to gain control over sample decks and this should make it an awesome system to use with an external mixer 3 cheers to Traktor ... show more

  • Useful in the right places.
style: DJ Controller
This plus a Z1 (and your laptop) makes for an extremely portable pair that you can easily take to get significant capability in a small package. They're not replacements for full control surfaces, but they have their use. (I took mine to DJ at Burning Man. They were the perfect combination to take onto the dusty Playa and not worry about control surfaces getting ruined by the dust.) ... show more

  • Lower half extremely easy to use
style: DJ Controller
Lower half extremely easy to use. Upper half has taken me time to learn and get the filter settings where I want them.

  • This controller is perfect
style: DJ Controller
I love the controller and it is what I expected, looks really nice. -its plug and play as long as you have the required version of traktor. -knobs and buttons function perfectly -the touch strip works perfect, pitch bend its easy to control with it, and needle search is also really usefull -the browser knob also works perfect as they say, you touch it and its maximize the browser window, you release it and browser goes back to its size. Only thing I found weird is that the browser and loop encoders as any knob on a controller is detachable you can take it out if you pull it. the thing is that these are too loose, if you put the controller facing down they will fall. ... show more

  • Pairs up well with your DJ mixer
style: DJ Controller
I've been DJ'ing for a long time. Long enough that I remember when the first CDJs came out. So long before digital DJ'ing was a viable option compared to vinyl I was already very attached to my DJ mixer (Pioneer DJM series). The X1 controllers and traktor are a great way to make use of a full DJ mixer while keeping control of your digital media at your fingertips and not a mouse and keyboard. The mk2 is a substantial improvement over the originals as well. I was hesitant to make the transition, but I'm really glad I did. ... show more

  • Opens up a whole new world
style: DJ Controller
Been DJing since the late 90's starting from vinyl on my 1200s (which I still have), through CDJs, to Serato and Traktor. This is a very nice addition. The ability to mix stems and remix sets opens up a whole new dimension.
