  • Comfortability and Stick Drift - ness
So I am an avid gamer and one type of genre I especially like to play are fighting games. And in those fighting games, you must be very accurate and comfortable with the tools at your disposable, for even seconds of seconds is enough to cost you you're life (in the game of course.) With this controller, It's pretty hard to do either. The main point about this controller that upsets me is that, I ordered this just about a month ago and am already experiencing stick drift with the right analog. I feel like I'm playing a balancing act just to keep the camera centered to where I want it. I'm not sure why it's so hard to get this kind of thing right. Heck, even Nintendo did it with their new console. I know I shouldn't expect too much. I shouldn't expect this to be as good as the PlayStation controllers themselves, but for the same price as a PlayStation controller, you need to do these things right. I digress. The second main issue, is the feel of it in MY hands. Yes everybody has different hand sizes, personally, mine are small. I have a hard time finding this controller to fit in my hands comfortably. A BIG side note, the analog sticks feel too close to each other. I sometimes find my thumbs clashing into each other. If you're not looking to play competitively with this controller, then it isn't too bad. Of course, minus the stick drift. That's just a no-go no matter what you're playing. It's not the worst stick drift in the world, at least within a month owning this product, I thought it would take longer for this to start happening. Overall an ok product, Feels nice when I'm playing "Cursed of the Dead Gods". I've been having a blast with this game. And the best part about playing with this controller, you don't control the camera due to the game playing from a top down view. LOL. The main reason I bought this product is because I was looking for a nice wired controller to invest in for my gaming. And I guess you could say, I came out with an OK wired controller to invest in. ... show more

  • Amazing quality for the price
So I have to start by saying that I originally purchased the Nikon wired compact controller via suggestion from PlayStation 4 groups on Facebook. Originally I was having issues with factory and aftermarket PlayStation 4 controllers all wireless. The biggest issue I was having was the simple fact that the touchpad in the middle of the controller would take over controls during certain gaming operations as if that was the most important function of the controller for me I don't use the touchpad at all it becomes a nuisance to me. I have learned how to turn off the function but at the same time randomly in the middle of gameplay the actual PlayStation 4 controller would turn the function back on therefore ruining what I was trying to do in any game. I have since purchased this controller several months ago and I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. For one I love the fact that it is corded and I don't mean with a USB charge cable that you can plug in and then just leave plugged into the PS4 no it is a full-time corded controller which means there is no battery to have to worry about recharging or going dead in the middle of gameplay you plug this one in and it just works and that's it. I honestly I give this 10 Stars out of five over the original PS4 plus dualshock 4. Maybe PlayStation could learn a thing or two from their aftermarket counterparts. ... show more

  • A good wired dualshock alternative
After running into issues with the standard PS4 controllers, I'd been on the lookout for a ground level replacement, and stumbled onto this controller as one of the options that spoke to me. I was quite satisfied with this one, but I did pass it along to a friend having QC issues with a dual shock. It has a sturdy build, the wide face buttons are satisfying to use, and L1 and R1 have a decent click. L and R triggers both do the job, though it might take a moment to get the feel for them. Everything seems to respond all well and good. The 3 meter cable is a godsend, and I wish more wired controllers would adopt that length. Touch-pad is solid, like it better than the Dualshock's. The overall size isn't that much smaller than most everyday controllers, but the arrangements of the buttons is friendlier to smaller hands. The left side of the controller is just a bit too cramped between the left stick and d-pad for my personal comfort. Speaking of the D-pad, it's about the size of the Xbox One's and it's alright, but if it has a proper pivot, it seems to be a bit too short. I do get a few odd unintended inputs from it, not often, but enough to make a caution of if you play fighting games with it. No motion controls, but most wired pads don't so that's within my expectations. The headset-compatible 3.5 mm jack is appreciated. Odd note: When trying it on my PC Steam recognized the controller an Xbox pad. Not a problem, just a funny observation. EDIT: It reads as a ps3 pad on the current version of the driver. Not a big deal, but a bit of a pity you had some sort of custom set-up using the TouchPad via a Linux distribution. If you can get this controller at a good price, and don't mind it not being 100% feature complete, I'd say the Nacon Compact is worth a look. ... show more
