    • Not bad, but not great.
This looks much nicer than my sloppy DIY attempts at the same type of thing. The grow baskets are of standard quality and the holes are all cut perfectly. Though my original plan for it didn’t work, I have found it handy for transplanting salad greens that were over crowding their AeroGarden. Note: AeroGarden pods are a different size, so I had to cut away the old grow basket to free the roots. Also, the AG sponge is too tall and thin to fit directly into this system. It leaks from the water level hole. Until I really Hulk-smashed the seal rings tight around the elbow connector, and forced the tube down hard, it dripped constantly. Now, it only drips when jostled, for example, if my arm brushes against it while adjusting the grow light. I cannot recommend the growing medium/substrate that comes in the kit. I wasn’t able to grow anything in the included rockwool (see last paragraph, if you want details) and the clay pebbles are inconsistent in quality (either oversized or undersized, many cracked or broken into jagged pieces). The air pump is loud and it keeps trying to vibrate itself off of the table. I wrapped the cord around a weight to keep it from falling on the floor. I wasn’t dismayed at the lack of usage guidance. But, if you don’t already know what you’re doing, you’ll need to find your own educational resources. I would conditionally recommend this product to those who already know what they’re doing, but aren’t equipped to cut the right-sized holes into the right places of their own tub. For now, I’m using the pebbles provided, but, I suggest buying better LECA, if you like pebbles, or tying a different substrate altogether. I definitely recommend against using the rockwool provided. —— Why I think their rockwool is bad: I planned to grow 3 spinach and 3 red amaranth plants in this box. I primed the seeds and popped the ones with the longest radicles into 6 pieces of this rockwool. At the same time, I seeded two Gardyn yCubes (also rockwool, but more dense in texture), and two AeroGarden pods (sphagnum peat). I left the yCubes and this rookwool together in the Gardyn nursery and plopped the AeroGarden pods straight into the system. I put 3 already germinating seeds into each growing medium. I got multiple sprouts from each of the other plantings, but nothing grew from this rockwool. Not one single sprout. ... show more

    • Junk don't buy.
I bought this 6-hole and the 11-hole system the only thing that was good on either of them was the air pump. The instructions, if you want to call them that was nothing but pictures. I did figure out how to assemble both hydroponic systems. But they did not hold water they were leaking at the water level valve. I had cucumber plants put in the 6 holes and strawberry bare roots in the 11 holes. I ended up tossing several seedlings in my other system in order to save said mentioned. I will not recommend either product to anyone. I did find a use for them they make great work buckets. Oh and on one of them when it arrived it looked like someone just threw everything in there. The pump was out of its box, the clay pebbles were just rolling around inside the tub. Again I am very displeased with both products. ... show more
