I was using the Boppy pillow before this but the ends were way too flat and small to support my arms and be comfortable. I tried putting extra pillows underneath it, using regular pillows on their own, using folded blankets with pillows… nothing really worked well though and it was getting really frustrating. I’ve had the Brest Friend pillow for a few days now and it’s been the BEST. The thickness is just right for me, the material and cover is soft enough but easy to clean, and I like that I can easily turn it to one side or the other if needed. I was a little hesitant about having to strap into something but the back padding is supportive enough while not being too thick or annoying, and I can’t even really tell the actual strap is there. I also like that it comes with a small pocket on the front. 10/10 would recommend! ... show more

UPDATE: It is very stiff material for baby to lay on, which is GREAT! She stays exactly in place. I don't use the "humps" for her head, they are far too unnoticeable and short for her head to be breast level. The "wraparound" feature is useless to me as I sit while breastfeeding - it is actually a nuisance. The pocket has a tight top and is very deep, so you'll have to "fish" out whatever you put in there, if it's not taller than the pocket. I also never use the clip as I just use it while sitting, so it is also in the way. I wish it were able to flip upside down to use for either side instead of having one side open so you have to slip it on from one way everytime... Besides these issues, the stiff and sturdy material is great for holding baby and she falls asleep every time - it is comfy and nice to rest arms on while feeding too. I also used the plastic it came in under the fabric and while it's noisy to carry and put on, once baby is on, she doesn't move so it doesn't affect her or the comfort at all [all while protecting the foam underneath!] Haven't tried it with baby yet, this is based solely on product. Decent quality covering, like a linen tshirt. The foam insert is stiff and durable, however, upon unzipping the covering, it snagged on the foam ever so slightly and tore a teeny piece off.... The pocket is huge and the cinch at the top is nice and tight. I took the advice of another poster and used the plastic wrap in came in to go under the cloth and act as a waterproofer...it is noisy, so we will see how baby deals with it. The only negative thing is that the info packet it came with advertised a velcro strap, but it didn't come with one...after reading, I didn't know this feature existed but found myself missing it after finding out what could have been. Definitely not a pillow like a Boppy. Way more sturdy, with lumbar support, pocket, and stays up while standing (though I wouldn't try that with baby on it!]. ... show more

This is the best breastfeeding pillow I've ever used. I've had 4 babies and used other ones but this was by far the easiest and most comfortable to use. If you have a c-section I highly recommend because you can sit it above your incision sight and still be comfortable. I did return the one I purchased only because I ended up getting one gifted to me but I HIGHLY recommend this pillow. ... show more

I was recommended this by a friend and I am so glad I took her advice and got it. I used to breat feed my newborn (7lbs) on a pillow. I have larger breasts (size F) so I have to help support them to breast feed. At about 1 month she became very wiggly and it was hard to hold her, the pillow (to give her hight) and my boob. I got a Boopy Pillow first...It was nice but would stay around my waist for longer than 5 minutes once the baby was on it. I love that this attaches around your waist, gives you back support and allows you to breast feed from several different positions. It is made out of this great water resistant material that is super easy to clean up. It has a pocket for your waterbottle (or a granola Bae for those late nights). ... show more

I’ll qualify this by saying that I still prefer this pillow to all of the others on the market, the support and placement work for me. That said, the quality has gone down a lot. With my last child (2018) I received one as a hand me down that previously was used by two other kids and it worked great and was very durable. I got rid of it after I was done nursing that kid. Purchased a second one for this kid (2021) and the quality is way worse, specifically the density and quality of the foam is noticeably inferior to the first one I used. For example I’ve only had this one for 2 months and it is already sagging in the middle, so it’s slowly becoming u-shaped - which can’t be great for baby. Also have washed the cover a handful of times and the process of (carefully) taking cover on and off has chipped off some of the foam’s edges, another sign of poor quality. My 2-month old one is in worse shape now than the one I gave away which was like 5+ years old and used by 3 kids. So basically this item is not designed to survive normal wear and tear anymore and I can only surmise that this major quality decrease (without any corresponding price decrease) is part of a planned obsolescence-type strategy so that it won’t last for more than one baby. ... show more
