  • Great system, even refurbished!
I grew up with friends having an Atari 2600 and then I had an Atari 5200. This system has brought back a lot of memories and I have enjoyed checking out the many games. It was renewed but it came looking like new and has functioned perfectly. I have noticed a very slight lag in the controllers, BUT it is not that noticeable and could be improved by adding wired connectors. Also, I am seeing a lot of info about Xbox and other controllers being compatible. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase! ... show more

  • Renewed means still defective
Bought this to play during christmas eve, did not power on. Deeply disappointed, looks like it was not tested after renewed at all. Try to call customer support, but sent to voicemail.

  • Where is the PAC-MAN series of games?
It definitely does have many games on it… Although, most of them, I have never heard of. I truly do like that it has paddle controllers in the upper right-hand corner on the actual joystick… what a great way to do that! If you are a fan of missile command, asteroids, centipede, and Millipede on the old Atari systems, then you are going to love this game system! I happen to very much have fond memories of Jr. Pac-Man on the Atari 2600… ms. Pac-Man was also pretty good. And Pac-Man was one of those things like jabbing yourself in the eye… Because it was so horribly done on the 2600… But once in a while it’s still fun to visit nostalgia land and go back and play some of those old games. I really would have liked to have seen those three games on the system. Not everyone would agree, and that’s OK… But when you Advertise 200+ games, I would think there should be at least one Pac-Man related game in there. I think the design is pretty good on the physical unit and the controllers… And I do think it was a good purchase, and would recommend it. ... show more

  • Old school Atari games are so much fun!
Nostalgia at its best! These are the games my kids grew up on. Sure the graphics are good on present games but old time simple fun are so enjoyable. All skill levels and lots of laughter!

  • Check the list of games it comes with before buyinf
Did not have any of the popular games I wanted to play. User interface not easy to navigate. Good luck getting in and out of games and back to the main menu. Poor documentation. I bought two - the first one was DOA.

  • I bought two.
I bought one of these refurbished and I'm almost certain it arrived new. My seven year old and I had alot of fun with it but I was concerned about what might happen if one of the joysticks broke. I looked around and couldn't find any replacements. I was willing to pay around $30 for a set, so shelling out an extra $10 for a backup console seemed like a decent idea. The second one had actually been used and refurbished. It seems to function fine but the rainbow style lights on it flash in a more erratic pattern than the slow fade of my first console. I don't really mind the strange flashing, it sort of reminds me of the neutral zone in Yars' Revenge. One thing that has been an issue for me in the past is products that don't work with rechargeable batteries. These controllers do work with them, which gave me a warm fuzzy feeling in my dumb hippie tummy. Yes, there is some lag with the controllers. It seems much more noticeable in the main menu screen than it does during game play, so keep that in mind if you want to pack the thing up and send it right back before actually starting up a game (I considered it at first, super glad I didn't.) I, personally, am not much better at Breakout on this console than I am on my 2600+ with its associated wired paddle, if that gives any indication of the lag issues. I haven't tried to plug the controllers in directly. I'm honestly considering buying a third, I may have a problem. ... show more

  • Outstanding
This unit is easy to use, has a joystick with a built in paddle, and is easily expandable to include games from many systems. My only gripe is that I wish they had put the B button somewhere other than on the top of the joystick. Overall this is a great unit.
