Actually, calling this thing trash is a disservice to genuine trash everywhere. It's much worse than trash, it's a pile of reeking scat. OK, here goes: 1. The instructions were vague at best and poorly written (lets just leave that there). 2. There was no indication which of the two hook styles to use. 3. The "plastic tool" which is needed to tighten the support pads, was plain missing. I had to use other tools which didn't work well and I wasted hours of time. 4. The plastic seemed cheap and easily broken (it deformed when tightened). 5. The ratchet mechanism was defective. It would "tighten" with the mechanism open, but slip back when closed flush. Basically the metal cogs would just go back and forth when the bar was moved. Ultimately, it would not tighten. 6. The reason I use "tighten" in quotation marks was because even when the bar was flush with the rack, the attachment piece would easily come completely off with a little wiggling (like when you might hit a bump in the road). 7. In conclusion, this thing can't be trusted to stay on your car unless your car doesn't move. Maybe not then either. 8. I wish I could give it negative stars. Not as bad as other reviews say, the install instructions are okay, although recommended to place flat surface on roof-rack to level and for rail placement. The wind whistle is minimal. For the price, it does the job. Looks good too !

It’s made cheap as hell but it’s a great alternative to a $350+ Set of rails. A little difficult to assemble as the directions seem they’re for a different rail system so you’ll have to look at a tutorial on YouTube but after getting it all figured out it’s a very sturdy system for the price, I was able to stand on my rails like you see in one of the products pictures. ... show more

    • All 4 doors are leaking
This product barely fits my car. It sits uneven over the roof and does not meet the surface evenly. I’ve had it installed now for a week or so and we are getting a bad rain storm. Water is getting in 3 out of 4 of the doors. Completely soaked! Also I expected there to be some wind noise, but the amount of noise generated from this rack even traveling at low speeds is unbelievable. I have not hauled yet with it yet but will be in one week. For now I have taken them off and put them in the trunk to keep anymore water out. I would not buy this again or recommend this to anyone. ... show more

The install was a little bit of a pain I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out a few things but after that it was pretty simple I think this product is pretty good for the price if you do not make sure to put the metal ratchet strap in the rail the correct way it will not ratchet it will go in and come right back out but once it’s in there correctly it works perfectly you may have to bend the metal bracket that hold onto your door jam a little just for that snug fit but other than that I really like it the rails look good and are very sturdy ... show more
